Yea I’m pretty sure that’s not even close to a reason most anyone is unsubbing. Plus, frankly, if holding out for an admission of guilt really is your hangup, the pride and stubbornness is shared in that case. I would bet a large sum of money that people care WAY more about the actual game than any feels from Blizzard.
Well, I can’t argue with that. I’m just tired of the “you deserve better and we will do better” bs he feeds us, like anyone else I’m sure. And goes on to repeat the same behavior the following patch.
The corruption vendor on a rotation I think was the biggest slap in the face to players until conduit energy happened… and they originally thought destroying conduits was fun game play…
Yeah, incompetence all around and none of them get it
I have said it before and I will say it again. They are turning WoW into a pc based mobile game. They see how much interaction mobile games get with their CoD and KING games and they are just trying to translate that into an MMO.
They love mobile game MAU numbers and its going to be hard to convince me that they are not using those same tactics to get the metrics they want in WoW.
The Blizz formula = make players waste 10 hours to play 1 hour / then make rep grinds that help (keep wasting 10 hours to play 1 hour) / the let people catch up by giving them things that make working for them for the last 10 weeks or more seem dumb and help the feeling of “wasted my time.” - keep giving them gear they don’t want or need (cause coding is hard) (obvious time waster) - keep lfg full of nubs instead of having requirement levels - add legendaries that cause time grinds and then nerf them with raid gear that is socketed and wasted like 3 months on wrong legendary - then make pretend you care more and lie about update times (coding is hard) all the while selling you merch while gold sellers make 8$/100,000g which makes “not buying gold” seem dumb since it is the only way to combat the time sinks. My conclusion, Blizz sells gold…ty
Oh no, blizz 100% sells gold, absolutely. I’d bet very few people actually farm the gold they spend for carries and all that, it’s once removed pay2win, but I don’t think there’s any delusions about it.
It boils down to forcing players to play the way they want instead of letting players play they way they want. Less options is usually not the best approach for game - more options is usually far better.
Going through the story, I didn’t see how my covenant interests were antithetical to the others that removing the barriers served the story. In fact, the opposite rang true, all the campaigns in all of the covenants were similarly aligned at the end of the day. So I take their reasoning for those restrictions with some salt. It never made sense to me to quarter the already thin content, if not in the hopes that people would play x4 longer on alts to get the full reveal, but I never had the stomach for it.
That they are working to lighten up on these things is a great thing, I don’t they need to apologize and offer hat in hand. I just hope that in the future when these things are raised in Beta they are listened to, I hope that in the future, instead of serving the mechanics to augment metrics, they serve the mechanics to augment fun. You do that, the metrics will follow naturally.
I would disagree with you about how long it took. Its been this way forever the game is broken players identify the problems in alpha, Beta, PTRS. Problems go live and get worked in 12-18 months after the fact all the while they create they add in new systems that further break the balance. They need to be a lot faster at addressing class imbalances and plain admit that the coveneant system was a huge mistake and poorly implemented.
Blizz has lost all my good will since Azerite armor debacle of BFA I have nothing but contempt and disdain for this company
I dont want or expect an apology.
I want them to do their jobs…stop harassing female coworkers and put out a decent product. Apologies and excuses are nothing but meaningless time wasting cereal filler. Just do the stinking job right.
If someone slaps you in the face 5 times you dont thank them for not doing it the 6th. lol.
Blizzard does a TERRIBLE job, ignores feedback, attacks their own player base for telling them whats wrong.
THEY are the offender here.
THEY want your money, they just want to grope the female staff and party instead of putting out a product thats worth the $180 a year you pay to play.
It’s not so much about getting an apology as it is having them admit they made a mistake.
Trying to gaslight the playerbase is in poor taste. And not to mention if they’re not willing to admit they made huge mistakes, then they can be expected to make the same exact mistakes again.
Becoz the 9.1.5 change has been a big plan since the start of Shadowlands. Blizz just successfully not spoiled on what would happen in the story. In the end, it end up surprising players which is good to me. It is really timed to the release of story.
The whole Shadowlands World mishap on the story started when each of the Covenants were doing their business alone by themselves. And that’s where Jailer came in to get his opportunity. Then story progresses and it ended up with the covenants uniting together to beat their common foe… the Jailer. Blizz just released the last part of the story upon the time they released LFR to kill Sylvanas. And immediately announced 9.1.5. It is timed. It is planned. This is not random where Blizz decided, “oh, we need to do the changes now.” It’s in the story all along. And it perfectly fits the timing. Now that the Covenants united together from the story, leaving my old covenant and joining a different one has no more repercussions becoz they are ONE and united now.
Even if they did apologize to the players for their poor choices I wouldn’t praise them until they prove they have really learned when the next patch and/or expansion comes out.
Without time gated grinds for systems to access character power.
With no borrowed power spells or passives.
When the only progression is gear and our own skill at playing the game.
With all the broken or barely functioning specs getting worked on, with a clearly stated goal for the spec.
Not before these things happen will I believe for a second that they have learned anything from these failures or that they are going to refocus on making games not systems to extract playtime in the hopes of a cash-shop purchase.
Right now I only play because my spec of choice is in a solid place and I still like the PvE content style WoW offers, but my fun and therefore sub are hanging by a thread at this point because the amount of stuff I don’t want to do to get the character power to do the parts I do want is quickly piling up to be too much.
So what about someone who picks up Shadowlands 2 months from now? Most expac players don’t start right when the expac starts. You’re trying to tell me Blizz curated the experience with the expectation you stringently played from the time of release?
Give me a break, seriously. Back to the drawing board with you.
3.7M copies of Shadowlands were sold on its launch day breaking the sales record of biggest launch day. That’s “MOST” of the players.
I mean just looking at the ratio of likes, everyone in this thread BTFO’d you lol
lol…yeah, thats what hype will do to people. Drag them in actually believing good things about the product that turns out to be false.
Ah yes, because explaining why you did something is totally a bad thing…
Oh wait, no, it isn’t.
If someone asks me why I did X, I should tell them why I did X. Which is what Blizzard did since many players were asking why Blizzard didn’t pull the ripcord earlier.
We call that a Bait and Switch
The sheer length of time it took to implement these changes despite the loud, constant complaints from their paying customers…the blatantly obvious posturing of this move – oh so suddenly manifesting right on the heels of bad PR against the company on a massive scale…and on top of it all, they have the sheer audacity to boast, "sEe??? We’Re LiStEnInG!!!111!!!1" Yeah, I’m quite hard-pressed to give them an iota of praise.
Same and it’s not going to change anytime soon.
