I switched from Shaman this expac because I had such a hard time in DF and then they make them strong smh
Iâve started playing healer recently, and the thing Iâve ben finding offputting is how the tank almost always just charges off and doensât pay attention to the rest of the party. Just gogogogogo pullpullpullpullpullpull.
Fair enough if your doing a timed thing like mythic + (Which I do not do, i hate having to pug/preform groups), but on almost all other dungeon content, itâs really offputting.
Iâve not given up on my healer altsâŚyet, but I definitely wouldnât main a healer.
I donât know about all that⌠Iâm currently playing a healer, played one all of DF too. I find the role basically boils down into two scenarios:
A) Your group sucks, low interrupts, defensives go out after the damage is done, crowd control is at a minimum. Youâre spam healing to recover, itâs actually pretty fun. Some people get one shot, but oh well.
B) Youâre in a good group, people defensive when they need to and interrupt. You find yourself wondering why youâre even there as you do some 3 button DPS rotation. The entire healing role is now brain dead easy and a monkey could do it with one hand tied behind his back.
The second scenario isnât very fun imo. The first is fun, but one shots kinda ruin it. With infinitely scaling keys though, things will always one shot at some point. I donât really see a fix for it.
i dont feel like we lack healers.
even last week when everyone only saw shamans it was still fine.
Every so often Blizzard has to design dungeons and other mechanics for the masses in highend content to force them to get better at the game. Itâs a skill check plain and simple and if you fail it then itâs intended.
In my mind this is to retrain the playerbase writ large.
Cata did this as well after the zergfest of Wrath Heroics and it likely trained up a lot of new players in a good way.
The point behind all of these changes seems to be more teamwork oriented, which is good cause M+ is oriented towards that. If youâre already good it wonât bug you.
I did the same thing and switched to druid⌠for the first week of m+
I started out tanking during burning crusade when people actually had to walk through the front door together because there was no queue. The first thing I still do as a tank before I even move is say hello to everyone else in the party. People donât understand how important party dynamics and communication really are even amongst strangers and some of the best friends Iâve ever had were complete strangers who I found to help me run Scarlet monastery back in 2006. I wish more people would slow down and actually talk.
the gameplay simply isnt as fun as dps.
if we had more specs like fistweaver the healer population would explode
Explode is an incredibly strong word. Increase, sure, but not in any way that matters.
And if youâre going to go the direction of making tanks and healers more like DPS to increase their appeal, you might as well just go all the way and turn them into DDs of various types and remove healing and tanking as dedicated roles altogether. The half-measure where DDs still have to deal with massive friction due to needing to group with players piloting characters that are labeled as âtankâ and âhealerâ, but where those roles donât actually exist for those who enjoy them truly, is pointless.
As a healer main Iâve yet to find a drought of healers, lots of keys already have healers. I also rarely struggle with groups performance, sure some people struggle, but I couldnât ever get the air headed divine ego some healers have, everyone makes mistakes.
Yea this. I love to get my dungeons done efficiently as a full grown adult with less free time than i had 10-15 years ago, but I still enjoy it when someone is in a new dungeon and they are trying to feel things out and take their time. Its super refreshing. The mentality of modern gaming/gamers is instant gratification and itâs all about ME ME ME.
Itâs part of the reason I play on an RP server. So when all the current âbusy workâ is complete, I can gather with 4 guildmates for some Dungeon RP. We pick a new dungeon, leave it on normal (only doing Legacy dungeons), and then as we move through Dead Mines, Sunken Temple, or even a Raid, we eliminate the enemy, make campfires, strategize, and simply hang out D&D fashion. We make our own fun.
Sounds about right. Not sure why you got flagged bro.
Sounds about right.
I know exactly what they are talking about. Literally every day there are at least 10 posts talking about how nobody can find a healer. Glad YOU are finding a healer bro, but not everybody is. In fact, most people seem to be hving a hard time finding one.
Idk what ur talkin about no healers everyone i freakin know is a healer.
I know healers as well, doesnât mean they want to heal lol.
Youâre not a bonafide healer until you look at the other four (or 24) people in your group and think, âUgh. Which one of these elbow lickers is going to die to fire and how do I expedite the process out of spite?â.
The ones i know fight for the spot and will not do anything but heal.

OP is way too correct and most likely reported by dps who like standing in the bad cause mahpewpewpewnumbeahs.
Thatâs exactly what happened. People on here canât just let somebody vent and rant, so they just abuse the report function to attempt to silence people who disagree with them as opposed to actually having done anything lol.
cool, so you ran into me when I was dumb and young and naive.
Anecdotal at best. Again, glad you are just lucky to know those people.
