Yea folks - keep smoking the cope that GDKP’s ruined anything about the game and caused RMT to sky rocket while people now not only control the flow of gold but literally decide if you ever get anything out of the auction house.
Imagine a day when your epic mount was considered the pinnacle of a serious expense.
Most people I’ve talked to who are anti-GDKP have
A) never been in one
B) upset that they weren’t invited/gate kept (and its not because of their lack of gold)
The same people who were upset then are upset now about people HRing 3+ items in a run, but also don’t want to host/heal/tank/farm keys to do the runs themselves.
The RMTers are still buying gear with paypal instead of gold. The sweats have moved to HRing stuff instead. The casuals are still unincluded even after their GDKP tantrum, only now all their consumes/BoEs are 10x the price. Everyone lost out but casuals lost out the most, determined people found a way to get what they want as they always do.
No one is seething but you as you pay 10x for your consumes on the AH as you did last fresh.
The RMTers just buy the gear directly through paypal/g2g now instead of using a medium. They are not affected in any way by no GDKPs, only the rest of us are.
The people who didnt GDKP before still dont now, except now everything is more expensive. The economy is just straight up worse for non swipers now and I really dont see where the payoff is for me atleast.
Imagine thinking banning GDKPs stop people from RMTing their gear. Now all the semihc/moderately casual raiders can’t put some spare gold in their pocket from the people that RMT.
Imagine bragging about cheating and then trying to gaslight the people who call you out for cheating.

And then when you get punished for cheating, you just cheat a different way. As if discord item bidding with venmo/PayPal/cashapp payments is somehow better.

Absolutely baffling behavior and mindset. Ill never understand it. Especially since the majority of you that do it stop playing after you get BIS, or you wander off into level 20 zones to “pvp” until someone with comparable gear that DIDNT buy it comes up and checks your jaw a couple times.
It does and it largely has. AH listings are nothing compared to GDKPs. Just because it doesn’t eliminate all RMT doesn’t mean it’s not a good policy. And anyone who said it would completely eliminate RMT were just pro-gdkp trolls.
This is true. But we also should understand that we don’t know if it is good policy at all. It may remove or reduce RMT, but we don’t know that it does, nor if it does by how much, nor whether that “matters” anyway.
What we do know is that the devs decided to ban GDKPs on SoD, and also brought that same ban to Anniversary realms. At the very least, that is evidence that they are intending to appeal to the same group of people - at least if you make a group of people by whether they like GKDP bans.
SoD was the first time they tried to implement this and it created the highest mass RMT economy the game as ever seen. This isn’t a “what if”, they have tried it before, and it not only doesn’t work, but it drives more of the semi hardcore crowd who used GDKP trickle down to fund consumes to become RMTers themselves. It’s really quite sad to see.
I dont know who you’re talking to but everyone in this thread agrees and is against RMT for gear. So whatever boogey-man you’re upset with- he doesn’t exist, and you can relax.
Some of us just like DKP with a pug system and not having to grind for consumes for 40 hours a week and are willing to play alts or pass on gear to be able to avoid it.
