Still bugged this is really stupid to still be a thing for 2 months.

Same on 2/19/2021…almost a month later after the covenant progressing bug was reported…it is still happening. Come on…

Just completed, had to turn on Warmode & take the portal back to Zuldazar & flew back to the quest area & was able to take him out.

This is still a bug Feb 24th 2021. Had to turn war mode off and then flew back and it was working normally. Very confusing and very sad that this was reported so many weeks ago and this is a paid subscription game. This bug should be getting addressed much quicker as this is a major quest line.

OK I got it to work. Like above make sure you go into warmode down on your talent tree on your bottom right side. Don’t right click your name and go into PVP mode. That does not work… For alliance Go to Stormwind. Activate warmode on talent tree, then catch a portal back. Once you kill him go back to any rest area to take off warmode.
This worked for a friend in my guild as well. She had to go into war mode in Stormwind and went to the area and she turned war mode off afterwards and was able to finish the quest.
