The Player Housing Realistic Must Haves List

You would be correct. So something that is “Ironforge” style for Dwarven housing would be needed?

My biggest want is that they don’t focus so much on housing that the rest of the game hurts because of it.

Are there people out there who honestly think that the whole WoW team just works on one thing at a time? Like, is that how you honestly think this all works?

Like 'Well, some of the specs are completely out of whack. Must be all these store mounts!!"

Seriously, is that what people think?

So again, making sure it is optional and cosmetic, and not part of the meta the way Garrisons were?

Oh, something got lost in the convo.

I never voiced an opinion for or against.

Howerver, I am for it if it’s done right. I’m against it if it’s not. I’d like to see it happen, but only well done. I don’t want them to have to scrap it.

I’m happy for the game to get the feature. It’s long overdue and the game deserves to have it under it’s belt.

All of that and that we don’t end up with a massive content drought like the last time they tried.

What I need:

Instanced lots with optional neighborhoods or connected communities.

Blank slate environment with different ground, sky, lighting, and weather options to replicate different zones/settings in the game.

Building block assets to construct unique structures, landscapes, and buildings as well as prefabricated ones to just drop and place.

All assets can be freely rotated/scaled/floated/and placed inside other assets to make unique creations. No hooks or set locked location for building.

Ideally, they’d make it so you could choose whether you want your home to be an apartment in a city or a location in another area of the game. I would absolutely want to decorate it, and I’d like to see the home reflect the race of character I’m playing as.

No, several teams cross paths, however those teams have meetings, sometimes twice daily to look at what is ahead of them that day, and a recap of what was accomplished. With housing be a specialized addition, I would imagine there is one person in the art department who is coordinating the efforts and will receive the “feedback”.

not exactly. but if they go the shop route and it starts making too much money i would expect it to be focused on, hence i wont support it with real money.

i will support it with my ingame time though, if that’s even an option.

i want it to be something wholesome that adds value to gameplay experience. not something greedy that adds value to microsoft/blizz.

It’s not player housing if we can’t decorate it.

I’ve a feeling it’ll be more like SWTOR Strongholds. Which I actually like.

Will we own the house or pay rent? Cause the landlord might not be ok with a tenant who has 931 pets.

Ya know, there has always been an empty space in garrison that could fit a small house, I could imagine the cutscene and music once its built [Player Housing - Level 1] and then you gotta go get the plans for level 2.

I’ve never had housing be a rent thing. This sounds incredibly bad.

Would you say something customizable to the level we had with stronghold in SWTOR, or more like FFXIV or ESO housing?

Someone will read this and support it twice as much just to spite you. :stuck_out_tongue:

Whether it is cutting off their own nose in the process or not.

Adding Player housing solely to Garrisons would remove players from the current world and be an ugly reminder of their original attempt. Garrison style housing would be a fail in my opinion.

I don’t think the cash shop options will be an issue, as long as there is a way to also obtain them as a world drop, or an AH purchase. One of the ways I made tons of credits in SWTOR was to buy Cartel coins, purchase the sets, and then drop them on the GTN (Galactic Trade Network) their version of our AH. Just like any other item, it would be possible to make gold, and use gold the same way we do with tokens.

Ideally, I would like a country cottage with some exterior space to landscape in addition to the interior decorations. Having a nice view would be nice as well.

The ability to decorate is a core requirement to me. If it’s just an an achievement-based version of archeology pristine display rooms, I will be disappointed. However, I will not be shocked if we don’t have full control over anchor point placements and it’s more like transmogging the room than fully controlling the layout.

Although I would like a variety of themed skins and scenic locations, that feels more like how the system expands if it proves popular rather than how things start. It’s more important to me that the foundations are solid.

Enjoy your Garrison 2.0.

I have not played ESO in a while but I heard great things about how its housing has improved over the years. But for me Wildstar is always the GOTA.

You could place everything 360° x,y,z axis. Shrink and grow to extreme sizes. Dye the colors, and combine models inside other models to make unique objects and structures that were not otherwise available. You were virtually only limited by your imagination.
