Because that’s what’s supposed to differentiate an RPG like WoW from other games. Bad things are supposed to happen. Like how Teldrassil and Undercity are gone forever.
PTR. There’s an escort quest where the NPC slow-walks throughout all of Orgrimmar. The zombies 1-shot level 10s, and the Exile’s Reach questline teleports them right to Orgrimmar’s front gate.
Placing this into Warmode is already problematic. Who says everyone who wants to participate wants to engage in PvP with the opposite faction?
No. Just no.
You didn’t trust it to keep this kind of grief from you because you had no idea this kind of engagement could occur. This isn’t HvA, this isn’t a faction conflict. This isn’t “PvP” in the traditional sense either.
Are you in favor of Covenants being permanent meaningful choices because of MMORPG? If so, this is a consequence of the RPG part. The world exists and you can’t escape it.
If you aren’t in favor of those things, and you want free change because this is just a game not an “rpg,” then I can only say that sometimes events happen that you don’t like. Having playing some of the PUBG/Fornite periods you sometimes end up not liking it; it’s not the end of the world.
Nothing at all. I suspect you’re a sweet, awesome, amazing person to play with. That doesn’t mean that all base level content needs to accommodate you, though. I’m genuinely sorry that you don’t like this content. That doesn’t mean it should go away.
It’s not personal, I’m not saying you’re wrong, but there can be events that cater to people that aren’t you.
I’m not capable of forcing you to do anything. I’m a random voice on the forums. With zero actual control over what happens. Don’t plead at me like it’s my fault or responsiblity.
War Mode is the line between PvE and PvP content. If War Mode is disable, it should be a hard stop to all PvP content. Period. That’s what it’s billed as, and has functioned like. Except now.
Players are killing players with intent. That is PvP in the strictest sense. It doesn’t HAVE to be faction-based. If I don’t have War Mode on, I should be untouchable by other PCs unless I willingly join their group or manually accept a duel.
The Covenant System isn’t great, but War Mode already exists. I made my choice in regards to PvP.
I never said the event should go away. I said the event needs to be opt-out. There is a massive difference.
take a look at BfA for instance, both factions capitals got ransacked and ruined the lives and ended the lives of many people in those cities and the Horde and Alliance players were not affected one bit. We all went about our business never seeing the siege of Boralus with the harbor on fire or the Battle of Dazar’alor with the whole city on fire.
People that sought out that content could do so. If someone doesn’t want to engage with particular bits of content, then there should be ways around it.
