The Plague Event is fine. Period

I can feel the impact of the event through NPC interaction. I should never have to expose myself to ganking and griefing to complete PvE tasks.

And that can be achieved with endless waves of NPC controlled zombies that charm (run it like the charm dungeons/raid spells where you are aggressive to all but not flagged) players on the PvE side. Saying that PvE players should just suck it up & be griefed for 2-3 weeks is not a viable option in this matter.

The first time it rolled around it wasn’t really all that big of a deal. I think you’re making a mountain out of a molehill, but hey, different strokes eh. You can always not play if you don’t like what’s on offer. It is after all just a video game.

Name the difference to the event if I can opt out versus just logging off?

I very much doubt you’ll have the option. Zombie plagues don’t give options. rawrwrwrwr

So we’re treating it like a real plague? Then the zombies are AI-controlled, because they’re mindless and have no master. They’re simple, feral things. A PC gets raised as a zombie rises AI-controlled and can either spectate until their zombie is killed or they can release early to revive.

Historical precedent, and last time it went off smashingly. Nostalgia is a heck of a thing. I’m personally very no changes.
Getting infected repeatedly, is going to happen. You’d spend half the day watching your character run around. Not at all feasible.
It’s just some silly fun for a limited run.

I am fine with the PvE aspect. War Mode is supposed to protect me from PvP. So if War Mode isn’t protecting me from the PvP in this event, the PvP needs to change to a PvE style.

When I disabled War Mode, it wasn’t a suggestion, it was a statement. Leave me alone.

Stop trying to shame people into being victims for your cruelty.

You’re making yourself quite the target for potential trolls drawing this much attention to yourself.

Like I care. Let them bring the heat. I have a 1.4K reply thread dedicated to being a honeypot for the worst posters on the forum.

I’m not trying to do anything to you at all.
I’m just trying to experience the event in all it’s messy nostalgic glory.

And I’m trying to show that you can use the new systems that have been developed to protect player agency and allow people to experience content that they desire.

Opt-in doesn’t ruin this event unless the event is so toxic that no one wants to join.

Weird flex but okay.

Sorry if it came off aggressive toward you, and I’m not trying to lump you into this, but player agency is important beyond anything else. If one player says ‘no, I don’t want to’, another player doesn’t get to override that with ‘yes, you do’.

I’m saying in this particular case. Those things aren’t important. The game doesn’t need to suit you and your preferences 100% of the time.

They are of the utmost importance. At all times.

Huh? No no, you’re fine. I took no offense at all.

Personally I’m excited for this event, I’ve dealt who the griefing, and I guess I’m just numb to it.

To you. But you don’t speak for world of warcraft. You only speak for what Lingxiu wants.

And if you’re okay with the PvP aspects of this event, then more power to you. I hope you have fun chomping on folk and spreading the plague. I just want the option to sidestep that and interact with the event on my own terms.

I don’t want to opt out of the event, I want to opt out of being flagged pvp. I don’t want to opt out of being killed by players while they are zombies, I want to opt out of being killed by players who are not zombies. I expect to be killed by Zombie players, I do not want to be griefed by pvp players trying to get there jollies off because I’m force flagged.
