The Plague Event is Fine, but only if it's Opt-In

Yea that’s a bit of a problem. How can you test annoying that requires you to be alive if your dead?

Anyone can be infected. That’s what makes this different and special.

This makes zero sense. I’m not special. I’ll be a part of the world which will include the event. I don’t think I’m some special little guy that thinks the game revolves around him.

so stop acting like one.

the night before the patch, log out somewhere safe.

drama over!

You’re not making the case you think you are. I’ve proposed solutions that encourage player curiosity. If a player feels overwhelmed, they can take a break and get something else done in the game without having to worry about the event.

Why is it so hard to say ‘I don’t want to be ganked.’ That’s why I turned off War Mode. Why is my death so integral to your fun?

That should be the only way you’re not part of this event.

Because you need to trap every other player to get your jollies off. Which is kind of scary.

It’s not your death that we want. We just want an all inclusive event that affects the entire world. You don’t.

If I’m not on your shard, I’m literally not part of your world anymore.

You’re trying to hold the game’s playerbase hostage.

Not everything should be opt in. It adds to the story that ghouls are killing everyone. Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean it’s bad or needs to be changed. Hell I don’t like LFR but I’m not here crying about it.

OK, so opting out means ‘oh crap, the invasion happened. I’d better check out Orgrimmar and see how things are doing’ Proceed to post-invasion gameplay.

Wow, such damage to the world integrity!

You are part of the game world. A part that just ignores the fact there’s an event going on. It detracts from the event and the game.

this isn’t about war mode.

why should the game be changed to suit you, when you have the option to completely avoid putting yourself in a situation which you think you may not like?

Here is what will happen with your solution. Since people have an option to opt out then you will have people opt out because they either do not like the invasions or are tired of them and want to not be bothered. Meanwhile in the invasion shards cities will either overrun and wont have enough players to fend it off or it will die off entirely making invasions non existent. It needs a motivation for people to be like “I have had enough and want to be left alone. Let me make a group and scrub the city so I can do what I need to do in town”.

I am literally invisible and intangible to you. As far as your server is concerned, I do not exist.

You are fighting to hold players hostage. You are in the wrong, here.

Do you get this mad at people RPing that they’re a Menethil?

No, prohibiting players from experiencing the world because of a world wide PvP event exploited by griefing players isn’t/wasn’t fun.

I skipped most of the event last time as it wasn’t fun and was mainly players just camping corpses and ruining the game.

But not to the game and the world itself.

You do exist in game.

No, I’m wanting an all inclusive event to happen and you want to rob players of this event.

timed event. You dont see that happening now because the event ended like 12 years ago and has not been a thing since.

I thought the event was fun? Why are people opting out of fun?

Firstly, this’ll be my second Scourge Invasion. My first was the Wrath event and I hated it then.

Second, why am I forced against my will into a situation that would in any normal instance be entirely avoidable with the click of a button? And bear in mind, I want PvP and PvE to have a hard separation so you can level and gear exclusively in either.

It will be if you stop trying to suck the fun out of it.

You’re simply unreasonable at this point. You just want to hold players hostage to an event, that’s it. Just admit it, you want gank victims, and you’re scared once people realize how nonsense the zombies are and how stupid the capital situation is that people will go ‘right, enough of that, let’s move on’.

You’re right to be scared of that, too.
