Again, why is Forced Participation with a lower overall number of players better than Opt-In with a higher number, especially if this event is going to be Fun Fun Fun?
Because I have player agency. Again, I don’t have to be someone else’s victim. That’s all you want. To shame me into being a victim for your Ghoul horde.
Again, its not a permanent event. Making it opt in of course would descale the amount of people in a scourge invasion making them almost non existent since people will wipe out the zombies before they become noticable. We need the invasion to be forced onto everyone even if they dont want it. Thats the point of an invasion, to encourage people to make groups to clean out cities until someone manages to get infected, roam into a city and reinfect it. Infecting a capital city is not easy so it would be a while before that happened. The only people majoraly affected are auction house afkers (You could put an Argent Dawn npc in the Auction house to insta kill ghouls)
What makes this whole situation funny is everyone is saying ohh but we are testing the prepatch event and killing everything. Meanwhile the new questing content goes untested because the npcs are dead. Guess we are only supposed to test half the content.
Not if I log off. Which is what you’re obsessing over. You crave a victim because you’re terrified your Blizzard-sanctioned gankfest won’t be popular enough unless the game strongarms everyone into it.
All it encourages me to do is log off until it passes. If it were opt-in, I might be able to check it out. As it stands, it’s an insult to my time and my agency as a player.
Then log off until it passes. People have unsubbed to the game for things that have been in the game for years. Having some people unsub or log off for a temporary event wont hurt blizzards income
