Make a trainer in game that gives you immunity to the plague and ghouls, for 2 hours. Also add potions so people can be out and about and use potion when needed.
But why would anyone choose to want to opt out of such a fun experience? Given how excited most everyone is, there are going to be endless amount of people all anxious to participate!

As a matter of principal, there should and even would be safe areas established by the military. Places with 24/7 lockdown and strict watches and checks for danger. I’m talking priests and paladins with holy auras up where infected run in and die (cause the light is very capable of that) and healthy people live. There would also be pushes, especially by paladins who all should be immune to this (as canocially paladins were immune to the plague of undeath hence why there are no forsaken paladins).
If there are no rewards tied to this, it’ll fizzle and die out in a few days if not hours at most.
My 15 dollars a month is worth more than your 15 dollars a month.
If the city is so infested with ghouls and not living players, why wouldn’t you just run to the quest NPC as a ghoul then revive there?
It’s not like the ghouls can kill you again.
The game already has a bunch of inconvenience that we deal with otherwise the game would be awfully boring if we could do literally ANYTHING we wanted whenever we wanted to in terms of PvE.
This is little more than a speed bump.
My server’s Shattrath was locked down the whole time once it got to later stages because of the sanctuary bug. No npcs because player zombies were still counted as players so you couldn’t attack them in the city. They then had free run to infect every NPC there.
I for one think events like this need to happen more often to remind people that they’re playing world of warcraft, not some weird lobby game.
So what you’re saying is, run to some isolated spot where there aren’t zombie griefers camping out (so no banks, auction houses, inns, flight masters, quest hubs, etc.).
Brilliant. Should we just kill a few million boars to level? Scintillating gameplay.
I think that would be a bad idea, once every 5-6 years is fine though. It’s only fair.
Well, could this NPC be killed by the Ghouls? Would those inoculated be able to fight Ghouls? Why not just have it be a toggle?
This isn’t the reason there aren’t undead paladins. There a paladins who became DKs. Being raised into undeath is the reason they started burying all the paladins under Light’s Hope.
It wasn’t in wrath, and it shouldn’t be now. So no. Enjoy the fun. This is what a real pre patch event looks like.
There is places with those things that do not have zombies. Man they should unlock ogres so you could play one.
They don’t care about individuels like you.
I’ll log off, thanks. I don’t need the stress of it.
Maybe not, but I do help the metrics by playing instead of not-playing.
Oh damn. That would blow. It was messy, sometimes a small hassle but it was a lot of fun. Besides this was one aspect of the event it wasn’t the only thing happening.
Just use the longboi, katy stampwhistle/moll-e, your guild bank ability, jeeves, a flying mount, while hiding in your garrison (or use the AH and tradehouse npcs) and use dungeon leveling if you are below 50. There we go problem solved.
Sure, if it really stresses you out. Don’t ruin it for everyone else who enjoys it.
Inoculated players would not be able to kill ghouls or interact with the event, the Trainer would be non target-able.
Well i would tather not be in the PvP mode. I like that we can play with our own faction. Sounds silly but at least with the trainer everyone is happy?
Go to Silvermoon, you’ll be fine.
