The people that want LFD because of dead servers

One of the most common things that people say is “I need LFD because I am on a dead server”

This is the classic Band-Aid on massive wound solution. If the servers were healthy, the only real benefit that LFD gives you is teleporting to the dungeon, teleporting to the dungeon is really lame, it is just sit in Dalaran, click the button, come back to Dalaran, click button again as you run in circles around Dalaran on your chosen mount. On healthy servers “I spent 5 hours looking for a tank” doesn’t exist. Unless you are doing dungeons at 4am on a Tuesday, then you might be sitting in queue for a dungeon for that amount of time anyway waiting for the random guy that accidentally queued as tank, just to cancel and you go back into queue.

Here is the real fix: Blizzard does something about dead servers. Free transfers are OK but there are people that will stubbornly cling to their dead server, then complain about it. The only real solution is obvious and people don’t want to hear it because of their character identity, but it forced server mergers and closing dead servers. You can have the hack fix “server clusters” where people have their character name and server, but that is such a meh solution, you have to constantly have Bob-Longservername on everyone’s name.

Akcustally you HAVE to wait 16 hours for a tank who will demand all your loot and hard reserve your first born child. Thats why we need LFD because it will shorten queues somehow.

this needs to be a real server.

LFD won’t help dead servers.
It won’t create new players, won’t create more guilds, won’t create more items in AH, won’t create more PUG raids…

Blizzard need to do something about the servers population/balance issue. But LFD is clearly not the solution for this.

So giving players access to dungeon runs and letting them play the game isnt helping? not even a little? ok

It’s just a workaround. Not the solution.

What about fixing servers population/balance ? And they plan to do it from what i’ve read.

What is added to the game by siting in Dalaran reading the LFG channel and then flying to the dungeon entrance then waiting for another player then clicking on the summoning stone then finally starting the dungeon run?

We should pretty much just ignore players like Andycloud. They’re unable to see from another perspective or experiences. In their world, everything should be designed around their assumptions, and expectations. They lack fluid and flexible thinking.

Blizzard has had three years to do something about the servers, its not in their best interest.

They want everyone to move to the mega servers so that the dead servers can be shut down.

Its all about selling boosts, server transfers and god knows whats next. Probably wow tokens.

They made it clear anything is on the tables this classic expansion. Be worried.

There are like 5 frequent posters on the forums who I think have a right to talk about how this may help their server. They are from smaller PVE servers. Those servers that still do have people. I do think RDF could help them, and if I thought it would help servers in general I’d be advocating for it a lot right now… but I mostly think it’s too late. The guy on a server with 5 other players may be able to run dungeons but they still can’t use the AH or raid etc, so they are still in a bad place.

What I hate is when people use server issues as a pawn talking point, but otherwise don’t care about the server issues. It’s annoying, they should have cared before their toy was taken away.

With that being said I also think you’re using this as a pawn for something to talk about OP because you also don’t care. I guess you’re at least being consistent in the wording but yeah, doing the same thing in reverse is just as bad.

Aside from connecting realms, Blizzard won’t do anything, because they’re not inventing new solutions.

You can transfer or boost. Either way, LFD removal was about them getting paid, and the people cheering it are the suckers who fight their argument for them.

Wrong.
You get satchel with piece of gear and some gold, you get emblems that helps you acquire gear, you get extra xp for completing dungeon, and if you are having a hard time finding someone for the dungeon it helps with that.
The teleport is actually the least beneficial part of lfd.
Saying the only benefit from lfd being the port is pretty disingenuous.
