I have scrolled through several threads this morning. Newer to WoW I had a lot of questions about things and it’s been rough. I was hoping to see more of a community vibe here than in game. In game seems to be pushing gold runs which I do not have.
I see multiple posters some 5-15k posts being awful to other people using gifs and posting pictures. Shaming others achievement points. Switching alts etc.
I see the same behavior in some people with orange texts, community council. Just in general being argumentive with others.
Is that what this forum is? Pretty terrible. Why does blizzard allow this kind of behavior constantly? Then bringing those people on to the council?
Yea, the forum is definitely terrible at times – that’s just happens when humans can communicate to each other behind a wall (also like twitter and other social media).
You will see good stuff too. Ask your questions, you will get help.
My bait senses are going off on this one, but here goes. I’d rather loose restrictions on posting than strict- there are too many people who see differences in opinions as being “hateful and mean” when in fact they just disagree.
Then there is this. A community created problem. People seem to think everything is bait here and it just totally invalidates any post in general. It’s quite annoying.
It’s more of an internet created problem. The wow forums didn’t invent trolling. Even news outlets troll people with misinformation all of the time. Predates even the internet.
A telltale sign of trolling is also that the OP never responds to the troll post. Which OP has not yet- I gave them the benefit of the doubt while also being skeptical. Which is about the best I could do given how suspicious the subject material and phrasing of the post was on top of it being a 0 count poster on a new account; they even cleverly made the post to where anyone who tried to call it out as a troll would be reflected back as the troll. Seen that one done 100 times. Just too many signs.
You can answer someone while also not being subject to gullibility.
Of course WoW didn’t invent trolling, but we def. made sure to bring it along when it’s highly unneeded. I am not a believer of just because the OP doesn’t respond to the post doesn’t mean it’s a troll one but I do agree with you on the 0 post count thing.
People just jumping to conclusions to start it up and that’s all it takes here. I could be wrong, I could be right. We may never know.
Strange your posting in a thread about being hateful but you just left mine calling me stupid, dumb, and ignorant over a series of posts.
All because I don’t like the extremely strong focus of cosmetics in this game. That also apparently means I hate RPG games. I am apparently not allowed to like RPG games unless I roleplay lmao.
You’re* not your, I did not call you stupid, I asked you if you were stupid or a troll? And frankly, after seeing your reactions, I could lean either way or both… you really do only make YOURSELF look worse and worse.
For reference, the thread where said person actively humiliated themselves by trying to repeatedly jump both sides of the fence.
It’s people being people. The word hate is heavily overused these days. Just because someone disagrees with someone or doesn’t like something about them doesn’t mean they hate them.
Well I was very clear I’m not sure if it is or is not a troll, just the suspicion is there. Like Yoda kept trying to tell the younger jedi’s use your feelings
