Where did you hear this news of gold pricing, my friend?
A reddit thread I saw, while browsing r/classicwow
Tell me 1 reason how GDKP’s affect your gameplay? Give me an example please. I just find it odd that I havent done a single GDKP in SOD and I have never bought gold, yet my gameplay is completely unaffected by any of it. Yet here we are with people whining and crying about people doing GDKP’s. I jtruly do not understand it
By monetizing individual drops and gear to a point of making their value and prestige irrelevant. You don’t look at someone and think they got lucky or earned it. You wonder how much they had to pay out of their bank account for the gold they spent on it.
Gearing and accomplishments mean nothing in this game if people can just buy them with RMT because, lolz I have more real life money than you do.
Hard work, team work, raiding success, and community should be the avenue to get those rewards. Not your bank account.
Edit: And before you scream about not everyone RMTs. It doesn’t matter. The bulk of us that avoid them, do so because too many people who join them RMT. Period. If you run and get gear from GDKPs you’re not 733T, you’re not better than others because you defend that play style, you’re in a dark recess of the WoW community no better than the Dark Web of the Internet.
If you got gear from a GDKP, it was partially done through RMT and botting. You’re helping to destroy the game.
We don’t care about your circular logic, we don’t care about your defenses. Blizzard has officially come out and said that you can only advertise them in Trade chat. And we will report every single one that we see advertised in other channels.
So stay on your Discord servers where there are adds for gold buying and leave the rest of us who want to play the game legitimately alone.
Edit2: And don’t bother, you’re on ignore now.
I respect your honesty here, I do. Thank you. But why are you so concerned with someone elses gear? You just told me how it affected you personally and in your mind not how it actually affects your gameplay. You think that if GDKP’s just disapeared more people would want to “team up with you” and I am not trying to direct this at you but most people who hate GDKP’s are just flat out bad at the game. They think others will want to group with them when in reality they are just trying to FORCE people to play with them lmfao its actually really sad. I am in a guild and cleared every lockout and a GDKP hasnt affected me a tiny bit on any of my level 25s. I have pugged a few now and it is always god awful. Always some newb in the group doing what seems like negative dps. People with wrong runes etc etc. Did i get 7/7? Sure did. but it took twice as long if not longer than my normal guild groups and thats not because of gear.
Edit: you put me on ignore for what exactly? lmfao you sound so hurt over something that does not affect you. You dont like GDKP’s ignore them? I also dont like when people hard reserve loot. Guess what I do? I dont join. Crazy right?
Edit2: Nevermind I am directing that at you. I checked your parses. It all makes sense now lmfao. Not the worst I have ever seen I will admit, but I dont think Ive EVER seen someone with orange or higher crying about GDKP’s. Coincidence?
Thats hilarious lil bro. Staff went for 800 in the last gdkp i was in. Screenshot is in my post
It hasn’t affected me, I need loot, I form a group and go get loot. Easy peasy
I dont even know if you dislike GDKP’s or not. But the difference between you and all these whiners are they want to be carried one way or another and get jelly when they see GDKP’s. Instead of just ignoring what they dont like and play how they want. I am not saying everyone should like GDKP’s (although I am not sure why you would dislike the most FAIR loot system ever). Its very similar to the hate I have seen where people are like NERF DUNGEON FARMING WAHHHHH no one is in the open world grinding with me. Yeah because I dont want to lmfao
Uhh if the gdkp haters wanted to be carried, they would probably like gdkps then? Youre not making any sense lil bro. Just making up scenarios in your head.
One of yalls biggest points is how easy gold is to make and how cheap gdkps are and how anybody could get in so much random nonsense from credit card swipers
To clarify they want to be carried for FREE. They think they should be able to join and get free loot for a terrible performance. They dont like GDKPs because they dont get participation trophies. Tons of my guildmates do GDKPs on their alts. They post all the cuts and I see them all the time. Most payouts per person are like 10-15 gold. Sure there are gold buying pots out there that reach ridiculous numbers, but to sit here and cry about GDKP’s instead of just going after the real issue of RMT is absurd. It would be like me saying "burn every crop in the world down because I know for a fact some of these crops have illegal drugs growing in them. I am not gonna take my time to find the ones with the drugs in them and only burn those. I will burn them all and boom problem solved.
The other problem with allowing GDKPs is that it’s very hard to know who isn’t RMT’ing. My main account got banned because I apparently ended up with RMT gold after hosting a gdkp. I’ve hosted many in the past, but my account got perma banned for my “negligence”. It’s impossible to fully know who is and isn’t RMT’ing in GDKPs. Blizzard is being hypocritical AF allowing GDKPs, knowing that RMT is plaguing the scene and innocent players end up getting banned for it, but choose to do nothing about it.
And before people say it’s easy to tell who is RMT’ing , it’s easy to tell with their budget, I know many people who legitimately have earned 1k+ gold and they partake in GDKPs because that’s their preferred way of gearing their toons up quickly.
So I’m wondering.
What would Blizzard consider to be “proper vetting” of participants to prevent this?
Once all players have joined asking each member in /raid to respond either y/n when questioned directly if they have purchased gold?
RL/ML making a statement before zoning in that any members of the raid that have purchased gold need to drop out and leave the raid immediately?
You lost me here. Nothing in this phase of the game is prestigious in the least bit. Its all just RNG. You don’t have to do anything special except actually have your eyes open to complete the raid and hope that something drops. I’ve seen so many of the epics drop at this point its just another drop.
Sounds kinda like another version of the game.
In the interest of full disclosure I don’t run/participate in gdkps.
But I also can’t tar them all with the same brush. Ultimately to me it’s just another loot distribution system.
If Blizzard is going to track the gold and ban those that benefit from it would still be nice to get an idea of what is considered to be “best practice” when vetting group members.
Another delusional “anti-GDKP” post offering nothing but anger?
I doubt this is a thing. If gold that was bought passes thru your hands and gets you banned then people who are selling things on the AH would be cooked by now.
We can’t “block” specific players from purchasing our auctions or we might be treading the same path. Yeah a reach I know. Just trying to give people the benefit of the doubt/devil’s advocate if it does happen could one even counter?
Yeah considering that there’s no surefire way of knowing where the gold came from, banning someone for receiving botted/rmt gold is kinda out of control. Whether its in a GDKP, paying for a summon, tipping for an enchant/prof etc.
My shaman just gathered about 100 stacks of ore/herb (got to 172 HERB and almost max mining)
My mage then smelted probably 600 bars of copper/tin/silver/iron
My hunter will farm heavy leather (should nerf hunters again for trying to farm)
My mage will then craft all of these items together and sell shredder turbo combobulatormatrons for BIG GOLD.
Then when that gets boring and as we get closer to phase 2 I will mass aoe and hope to have somewhere around 50 stacks of silk.
It takes time but you can make money, I’m not even doing a fast method I just like being self-sufficient.
Blizzard has literally made a blue post stating be careful who you raid with cause if you receive botted gold from the pot you can get banned lmao.
Maybe stop putting so much trust into some random person that brought 5k gold to the gdkp. Oh nevermind, people in gdkps are glad to take from that pot. Which is why gdkp is a problem. Yall are happy and hoping to get an rmter involved so you can get a huge cut
