i remember when they decided to segregate BGs into exp on and off queues.
and now, seven years later, they undid that silliness, but way too late to get me to dust off my exp-locked alts queue up

What class changes are needed? I would like to see some Enhancement Shaman get mobility love for pvp, but other than that, there’s nothing really pressing that I can think of.
THE ONLY GUIDING PHILOSOPHY I SEE: PLAYER FEEDBACK IS MEANINGLESS
Did you know that polls came back recently? Those poles that appears when someone unsubscribe.
Yeah I mean the class forum is only flooded with feedback on those topics. The dungeon and island forum and pinned island thread were only flooded with the same feedback.
Any time they post in a GCD thread they are met with near universal negative feedback.
They are only scrapping the entire Azerite system altogether in the future (already announced) because that feedback has been so universal.
So where are the people that share your opinion? and while I agree with the thoughts that I’ve shared I only bring them up because I’ve seem them constantly on here, the forums, twitch, youtube, discords, and more. It’s not secret that BfA has not been received well lol
Most of what Varrow said was extremely common feedback in the beta forums, fansites, and discords, just fyi
That’s great. Still doesn’t mean it even remotely represents a majority.
You know what that sounds like? Sounds like they listened to player feedback.
True, but it was actual, tangible feedback and evidence, whereas the “silent minority/majority” could be entirely imaginary.
I go off what I see. Those complaints were real and common and numerous. The others weren’t, because they didn’t exist (either due to laziness, complacency, not caring, or genuine contentment/enjoyment. We don’t and can’t know.)
Can you even imagine if he had launched TBC? The races would have been gated and then not even released until long after everyone was exaulted with Netherwing. Flying would have come after BT was cleared because Ilidan would have dropped a lolipop required for flight, and The Eye would have dropped lower gear than BT, but would have still required flight to get to it.
Then they would have put in a portal to get to it, and removed it when only the top 5% of guilds had flight unlocked.
The classes would have had their trees removed and replaced with 1 button to click to choose your “spec” which would have reqired 2 buttons. Attack and jump.
Guiding principles my butt. These guys are out of gas and out of clues.
Sure, a year later (if not more). Also more the point of my post was a very long string and consecutive occurrences of this, which is why I gave the entire list. It’s not just about the portals, or any other single issue.
Just for fairness, I think they are handling the Azerite system as best they can. Obviously they can’t just throw it away mid-expansion. But I do not believe that makes the point of my post any less valid.
This may come as a shock, but game development takes time, especially when they are completely overhauling their end game progression system.
MFW I said that in the very post you quoted.
Do we NEED “consensus” to just leave portals alone? As with flying, it’s a “if you don’t like it, don’t use it” feature. Trying to argue otherwise fools no one.
Of COURSE Blizz is going to feed us a bunch of empty BS to “rationalize” changes. “Lodestar” - give me a break. I don’t know why they bother. It just makes us angrier when they “devsplain” away decisions clearly made to “engage” players for longer periods…but without providing actual engaging content.
Something helpful/fun, especially if it saves travel time? Fixed/removed asap. I still miss Have Group Will Travel and automagically learned flightpaths as you ding appropriate levels in Cata and flying during leveling in Cata (nvm flying at level cap). I miss REAL RaF (which is well overdue for a level cap bump and new rewards, btw). Massive, time wasting bug? Count on running into that sucker forever. I mean, hey, it’s good for MAU!
Instead of doing everything that is predictably hateful and unpopular for the sake of “MAU,” I would love for the devs to try something revolutionary like working to make the game MORE enjoyable. Devs could even do something crazy like fix some of the zillion bugs, many of which were in place and reported on the PTR.
Wouldn’t it be nice to maintain/increase MAU AND have a less ballistic player base? Because, surprise, people get annoyed, and they LOG OFF. Keep annoying them, they quit altogether.
Guardian and Feral Druid are in a really bad spot currently. With no fixes in sight. Fact is the fixes they did to them hurt them even more.
At the very start of Beta over a year before BFA even release. These same concerns where brought up. The answer given on them. Was we know what you want, you do not. The Azzerite system could have been fixed way before release date.
There’s one form of feedback that isn’t meaningless:
You’re the hostage. Shoot the hostage.
Quitting the game seems to be the only feedback that registers. There’s no space on their MAU spreadsheets for tracking “forum criticism.”
They already said in the last Q&A they don’t plan on making any major class changes again until the next expansion and were surprise when people were expecting big class overhaul in 8.1 for several specs (like they promised). This is just WoD 2.0. The put it out to make money and hoped the success of the last expansion would carry it. So lets cross our fingers that the next expansion will be the next MoP/Legion but I am not holding my breath.
They wouldn’t have had data on the scale we have now though, so even if they were able to change it before release, what guarantee is there that it would have improved it at all?
Well looks like it was Guaranteed to be a failure. I think most players are smart enough to know what is going to work, and what will end up broken. Especially with how long they have been playing the game. Just look at how if you want to play all your specs. You need nine pieces of gear, twelve if druid. I mean really Vox? You are just defending to defend at this point.
Legendaries in Legion, GCD change, class designs, gameplay, azerite, artifact power, islands, drop rates, loot rng.
To be fair legendaries in legion were fine after they added the vendor. You could not get a duplicate of the same legendary so you knew no matter what you would eventually get your BiS that would carry you the rest of the expansion. At the start of legion we had CM’s outright lieing to players saying that bad luck protection existed after 4. We later find out that was a lie. I believe there was a lot of unknown shenanigans going on with legendary drop rates at the beginning of the prior expansion. Overall Legion was an incredible expansion compared to the garbage dumpster fire we have now.
We have a vendor for azerite now except you can’t afford BiS before a season is over due to the cost and there is no guarantee you won’t get duplicates if you go random. By the time the next season starts the azerite you spent months getting is worthless. For reference players in the +10-14 M+ bracket will be able to at best go specific on 1 slot before a season is over then roll random on other slots. If you can complete a 14+ key each week you might be able to get 2x specific by the last week of a season assuming a season is ~5 months. That is still not worth it as you wont even be able to afford random on your 3rd slot before a season is over. We have the illusion of choice when you really don’t have any choice but to go random on at least 2/3 of your slots.
The azerite system is garbage and players have been going on about it before release. The GCD change was ridiculous and class design is garbage right now. There are multiple issues at play I believe. I think part of it has to do with developers who lack creativity or the capability to balance. Look at the azerite disaster. One azerite trait does 3k dps and another is worthless garbage. The other part of the issue I believe is Activision rushing to get content out faster so developers are more worried about whats coming next rather than fixing what is already out.
