If Blizzard is going to neglect their responsibilities to the players, then the very least they can do is prove that its not motivated by their boldfaced, naked, greed.

Need some restrictions, like only can only leave a server with sub 2k population. Also, servers with massive faction imbalances should be locked from receiving toons in the overpopulated faction.
If you did this all you would do is have everyone transfer to the mega servers.

It still isn’t their responsibility to manage the servers from the player base no matter how much you want it to.

Not even a holiday discount on xfers was a kick in the teeth.

Me too. Just started playing again and transferred 3 characters off Faerlina alliance since it’s dead dead. Gotta decide if I want to buy my boost before January 3rd since that is discounted though and I never used mine.

If it causes fewer complaints from the Classic folks, I support this.
Not because I don’t want you to complain, but I’d prefer to see players happy, even if I don’t enjoy the same content as you.

to be fair I think that they should do what new world did 1 transfer for everyone no matter what server they’re on and no restrictions to were they go
edit: then wait until wolk to add all the cross realm and things

Maybe. And you might have some people transfer to other servers at different times, because… it’s free and you can. If there were no restrictions, you could go raid Kara on Bene, then Gruul’s/Mag on Faerlina, head over to Thunderfury for SSC, and pop in on your old friends from Anathema for TK.
I feel like if there’s a question mark, it at least appears real.
To appeal to Blizzard’s wallet while also doing something for players:
“Free” transfers for accounts subbed to 6 month plans.

And it’s not the responsibility of the amusement park to manage their rides. It’s not the responsibility of night club owners to manage their capacity and safety protocols. It’s not up to restaurants to manage how their food is stored . . .
This is all up to the CUSTOMER.
Of course it’s up to Blizzard. Nowhere in any business is the management of that business left up to the CUSTOMER. WoW is no different because it’s a game. That doesn’t preclude the responsibility of those that OWN and oversee it. It’s THEIR game. Players don’t maintain it and they have absolutely no say-so in how this game is managed.

What is Blizzard supposed to do? Even IF they offered free transfers off of all servers (which they’ve done before). Are they supposed to force the players to transfer if they don’t want to? What if half of your raiding guild wants to transfer but the other half doesn’t? Or your arena partners want to but you don’t want to? Do you take the gamble that MAYBE the other servers will provide pvp and raiding partners equal to who you already have right now?
There will always be one/two mega servers, ALWAYS. There is no fix for this because this has been what players do. This is true across all MMORPGs or games with servers.
