Eh, this is not necessarily true. I can’t speak for OP, but leveling has always been a bit of a slog for me. It took me ages back in vanilla to hit 60, and I never leveled an alt because I couldn’t get a second character past level 30. I did love PvP/BGs though, hit rank 10, and would’ve made it further if they hadn’t canned the system.
I like how you post how “unhealthy” it is getting rank 14. Yet you know for a fact you would be grinding it out if you didn’t have time restraints. Nice try you casual.
Which is exactly why they kept the system throughout the next several expansions.
has Nothing to do with it, in vanilla it worked. It wouldn’t have worked in TBC because arenas were introduced and the game was then balanced around 2v2 and 3v3.
In TBC almost all of the best PvP gear comes from arena rating.
In vanilla almost all of the best PvP gear comes from raids. And some of the best PvE pieces (healing mace I’m looking at you) comes from PvP.
They introduced arenas because ranks were flawed and they wanted gearing to be skill based as opposed to time based.
And so began the immersion breaking Esports era of a once great game. Arena suffered from worse issues than vanilla PvP. People rerolled the best classes and rolled meta comps that gave them an easy road to high rating.
You can buy arena wins and carries, it’s a helluva lot harder to buy rank 14… if that’s even possible outside of TOS breaking account trading.
And they failed and ended up ruining pvp.
Agreed. They tried to fix a broken system with another broken system. #nochanges will assure that we have the same ranking system as in vanilla, but that doesn’t change the fact that it was a very bad system in the first place.
I’m not saying it was perfect, I agree it was ruled by account sharing and bots… but hopefully the classic version will be much more merit based. And by merit based I mean by those with the most time to play.
#NoChanges more like #NoChangesIDon’tLike
I’m not sure I would consider being unemployed meritorious, but to each their own.
Lmao this is world of Warcraft, where welfare recipients and trust fund babies always win out.
Sounds like just the world in general.
Man thats a lofty opinion for the generally reviled arena system to be honest.
“Reviled?”
Without fail, the only people I’ve ever seen who consider arena, as a whole, to be “generally reviled”, were completely trash at pvp.
Rank 14 might be the only thing in classic that might warrant any appreciation for the time that someone put in. As it is now we have dungeons finishing in 30 minutes and epics raining from the sky.
Except the time demanded for it is insane and promotes a lot of dangerous stuff and if it was bad back in the day with less people imagine now with the huge population.
The system won’t work, need changes.
So humanitarians in the world of warcraft all of a sudden looking out for the safety of others.
No. Not everything should be achievable.
Which also applies to 1.12 and classic unfortunately.
Of all the idiotic “no changes” drooler posts I’ve seen on this subject, this has the most drool on it.
