you can claim this all you want, but you can’t deny human nature. Humans by nature will always be biased and favor those who they like better.
Master loot doesn’t even need to return. Ever. What DOES need to happen is the artificial barrier that exists to trading gear simply because it is an ilvl upgrade. If that went away most loot problems would be solved.
fact of teh matter players have changed in online games. They know there will be no recourse for bad behavior. They will take all the loot they want and you won’t have a say except to leave. They in turn will recruit more and move ahead. This is not a fallacy, bad behavior gets you ahead in this game now and it has always been.
No, let people earn their gear when the game decides it’s their turn.
Stop wanting to control everything.
This. It was much more punishing imo.
So…instead of not having to adhere to another guilds loot distribution because you don’t like it, you support another loot system that others don’t like but would rather have it forced on them. Hypocrisy much?
actually both out posts are hypocrisy. you do realize that as much of the community likes personal loot as much as those that like master loot, so as you put it:
“you support another loot system that others don’t like but would rather have it forced on them. Hypocrisy much?”
Mmmno it’s more controversial than it is “loved by the community”. It’s not leaning one way or another. The change I’d want to see is Personal Loot remaining in the game but with the trading restrictions removed. My suggestion actually tries to go the middle ground while others seem to say…
“NU! MAH LOOT!”
I agree fully on this point. It is very valid and True. If I was in a Guild and the Guild leader abuses the Master Looting and keeps it for themselves or for the specific people they choose because the person is their “Girlfriend” or “Close Friend” (Not targetting people who actually have their girlfriends or a close friend who is actually playing the game. Just speaking of people who literally give an item to their closest person who either just joined the guild or barely worked hard for that item since the beginning of them joining the Raid or Dungeon). I would just leave, plain and simple. and go for another guild that does a better and fair approach of giving loot to each player where I have worked hard to earn that item.
If I was a GM and people were leaving because I was giving gear to myself or to my close friends or so called friends and my GF or WoW GF for that matter (Still gotta love when people online date strangers and barely know them IRL, the wonders of the days when people would literally Online date in this game), Would I blame them for leaving the Guild? Heck no, I would blame myself for being responsible for being entitled and abusing the Master loot for myself or my Friend or “Friends”.
Its basically common sense, Theres a lot of Guilds in Every server that are fair with Master Loot, or are Abusive with Master Loot, I’m pretty sure some players would even let others know or share people of the Guild and the abusive power they use with Master Loot.
My guild used master loot to feed 8 people all the loot for over a month to get them ready for naxx, only for 3 of them to say screw it and play retail. So maybe personal loot is the way to go.
It’s gone. Accept it. They’re being obstinate and silly by not bringing it back as an option, but this thread has been done to death. The Mr. Robot data pretty much seals the deal that loot options are the way to go, but the devs are dead set against it.
Just how it is mate. Let it go.
Lol no.
I’ve been an MMO player since 2002. Let me tell you what Master Loot means with guilds. It means that players who play nice with the guild leader get dibs first. It means that when a officer logs on they group up with the same people all the time despite having 2-3 members free for an hour before the group is all set up.
Master Loot is a way to reward petty egos and basically setup a system in which certain people you want to prosper, do so.
Hard no on Master Loot systems. The older I get the more I like LFR systems, personal loot systems, and more things to tear down the old guild system. Let the guilds exist for world firsts, and weird achievements.
Then you’re out of date. And as others have said repeatedly in these threads… we’re not asking for ML to replace PL. We’re asking for the option to use ML instead of PL. If you don’t want to deal with loot drama, then by all means… you and your group use PL. That’s what my casual raid group did in Legion and had zero issues.
Once I went up into mythic progression teams, I specifically wanted teams that used ML. Why? It’s better for progression as you can ensure that the gear goes to the player for whom it will be most beneficial. No +3 ilvl or +socket upgrades that can’t be traded.
Either way… You’re a hard no on ML. That’s great! Keep using PL. Just let those of us who prefer ML to use ML.
Options… That’s all we’re asking for.
My experience is that if you give the option players will not have that as an “option” anymore. They’ll make it mandatory. One thing I’ve learned is you don’t give raiders an inch in MMOs because they always always take a mile then say they’re the pinnacle of the game and that they need the mile.
AKA
Bring back corrupt loot councils lmao
Ggs
Master loot was a problem.
There was only one scenario where it wasn’t: pure guild progression groups.
In every single other case it was a bad system that lead to bad things (speaking from experience).
The only time I’ve seen ML work well was in a guild in EQ where the 25 players were mostly family and actually lived near one another. But other than that asking players behind a screen staring at pixels to be fair or balanced is literally like pining for the days of Prohibition where the Mafia and Gangs controlled the flow of liquor. Hard no.
And lets be clear this isn’t an option if they made an option. You would see every PuG raid demand that ML be turned on. Take the ability for maliciousness away from players because they’ll always use it.
IMHO the game is overall better with the lack of master-loot; personal loot started in D3 and honestly now is becoming an industry standard.
It’s got nothing but positives and the only con is WoW’s trading rules; all they need to do is open that up and I think most folks won’t care.
Regardless of ilvl let a person trade a piece of PL loot if they want; the power is on the player and that is what is most important.
This ^^^^
Its almost like the Raid Finder argument… If you don’t like it then don’t use it. If you’re guild uses it and abuses it then find a new guild, you’re obviously not in a guild with friends if you let this happen to you.
Only if it is done in a way that can never lead to reserved loot outside of guild groups.
