The Official bring back Master Loot Thread

Since we have to grind for gear like we do everything else now, seems only fair to bring back master loot. Does anyone besides Blizz have a problem with it? If anything make it a guild perk… Something…

The official “Blizzard wont bring back Master Loot” response

No don’t bring it back, the entitled Guild masters will then only give loot to their buddies. Master loot Is the main reason I quit raiding.

Master looter is a bad thing and shouldn’t be brought back.

I always hear this, and have never once experienced it, nor have I done it myself as being GM for over a decade, and assisting other guilds. I really wish we had some kind of statistic for this.

Horrible idea

But it was a big deal for many. I never personally experienced it, but any system that didn’t allow some type of bid process and was determined by a loot council usually had loot going to preferred members instead off a fair system

Personal opinion - I don’t really invest in something someone talks about when they openly admit to never having experienced it. This is a boogie man, and people use it as a reason to absolve them self of guilt in a situation.

If someone did abuse master loot, right? The solution is to leave the guild. Period. If I abused it, and someone left because I abused it, they should leave. Immediately. No ifs, ands, or buts. Punishing the whole because someone thinks other people were screwed is nonsensical.

I’d say make it mythic guild raid only. Then it can work.

That Is one terrible Idea you got there.

  1. Not happening.
  2. Won’t Happen.
  3. I don’t have to ever deal with another RL giving raid gear to someone who they were friends with when that person lost the roll for the item.

Blizzard doesn’t have to deal with anymore complaints about Ninja looting… investigations into Ninja looting.

You now either 1. Get loot or 2. Don’t get loot.
Don’t care… I put my effort and if you don’t think my effort is good enough for loot… then don’t bring me to the raid or mythic +. Simple as that.

official wall of no inc

if they wanted they would have done it before the expansion released…

Unfortunately ML won’t return. In my opinion, they should remove the loot trading restrictions. If it’s personal loot, let me personally decide what to do with it.

Ok that’ just means you weren’t a scumbag RL is all.

Blizzard does… and it’s why they instituted the policy that loot rules had to be clear… and if the loot rules weren’t clear they wouldn’t take action. But in several cases on my old server a RL would ninja a mount or gear… and catch a ban. This was around the same time that, due to Blizzard’s rules on naming and shaming, another site became famous for posting up names of Ninja Looters and serial problem players.

This is my opinion as well.

It’s one thing to remove master loot. If the boogie man really was a problem or something like that, then fine, get rid of it. But I should be able to choose what I personally do with loot. It is called personal loot for a reason, which means I should personally be able to decide what I personally do with it.

The fact a system prevents me from aiding people on my team is ridiculous in an MMO where a team based activity such as raiding is so important.

I have, and ML was not the sole issue, but was part of it.

It was during ToS. I was Crossrealming and helping a friend’s guild get AotC. All BoEs went into the guild bank, and every single one went to the toolchest of a GM or an officer or their alts, or they sold it for personal gold. I was barred from loot since I wasn’t a guild member and ‘wasn’t contributing’, to the point where an officer made a point to disenchant something in my toon’s face. There was also DKP, and all the drama that came with it, like overriding a need because transmog. It was an… experience and why I was so picky about guilds for the year and a half after.

They didn’t last long.

I get people have bad experiences with ML but seeing a bis piece go to a dif player of same armor type when they need different stats can be equally frustrating and demoralizing.

Maybe all blizzard needs to do is improve the system to prevent that from happening without bringing back master looter.

Even if it was only for just Mythic Guild runs, I’d be happy. I really don’t like personal loot at all.

No idea how they would do it. But I am also old school and want loot to go to people who make an effort to come to raids, help out others, and devises strategies to improve raid success.
