I hope it gets cleared super fast so I can come bathe in the tears of casual players who have some kind of complaint about it.
I think it will be closer to 2 months than people think. I think its going to be a lot harder than on Pvt servers. A lot of people are going to be in the forums QQing that its different from Vanilla but those people dont understand that the Pvt Servers are really different from the original.
I made a survey to see what everyone is playing. It was really well received and I had some good feedback. So I made a new one using the feedback.

When Molten core is released⌠Itâs going to take 8 months for average players. Mainly because the player base is pretty pampered now and no one has time for it. If anything it will be a major broadcasted event - Method will be given max level characters and they will be geared to the teeth from Blizzards back door marketing team and will clear the raid in 4 hours. And I say this because they currently at this time have Vanilla simulators that they have been secretly training on.
6-7 days considering we arenât getting progressive itemization. MC is going to be a serious joke because of the 1.12 stats weâre getting on ALL gear. Lack of progressive itemization literally ruins the end game content.
Why do you think the player-base will only consist of retail players? Majority of players who will be staying on Classic, are not even subbed yet.
I highly doubt that. Unless you have some rock-solid evidence to this, I call Bull
I could only imagine the storm Blizzard would face if they ever allowed that.
It literally doesnât, but okay.
Do some research and see just how much more powerful EVERY class will be during the early end game content of Classic because of the lack of progressive itemization. It is absolutely absurd. It will make raiding a joke and basically turn early end game content into the BFA equivalent of LFRâŚ
I have done the research. You obviously havenât.
Your arrogant demeanor screams that you havenât looked into it at all and wish to whimsically respond only to be condescending. Got no time for people like you. DYOR
It actually says I know what Iâm talking about. You have no time for people like me because you know in the end youâre wrong, havenât done the research, and are too uninformed to debate.
Well, it depends on how stable the servers will be. I expect constant crashes during the first week preventing much progress, so about the third reset or so.
Then go ahead and flex that knowledge, lets hear just how minuscule the difference in stats will be for classes, then Iâll tell you all the numbers for just how major of a difference it actually is
âPlease do my work because I canât do it myselfâ
Ok.
I chose warlocks because they are the class most significantly impacted by the itemization changes as they gain the most dps. Warriors, rogues, mages, hunters, etc all gain significantly less dps.

Gear Compared 1.2:
Felcloth Hood, Tooth of Gnarr, Felcloth Shoulders,Royal Trib Cloak,Robe of Void, Shadowy Bracers, Hands of Power, Star Belt, Skyshroud Legs, Omni Boots, Songstone of Ironforge+Maidens, Eye of Beast/Briarwood, Witchblade, Umbral Crystal, Skuls Ghastly Touch
Gear Compared 1.12
Fel Hood, Mystaria Neck, Fel Shoulders, Royal Trib Cloak, Robe of Void,Shadow Bracers, hands of power, banthok, skyshroud, omni, ironforge/maidens, eob/briar, witchblade, umbral, skuls
1.2 Total Spell Damage: 229
1.2 Total Crit: 2%
1.12 Total Spell Damage: 309
1.12 Total Crit: 2%
1.12 Total Hit: 2%
Running through the DPS spreadsheet for a 180 second fight
340 dps
versus
301 dps
So every lock gains on average, 40 dps in absolute bis (which they wonât have, as this thread is purely speculating about how fast a guild will clear MC). To reiterate, I chose warlocks because they are the class most significantly impacted by the itemization changes as they gain the most dps. They will also be capable of doing the most dps because while theyâre running 1.12 itemization, they are not including items added after 1.2 such as titanic leggings, etc.
The average raid takes about 26 dps
Letâs take a look at Magmadar
https://web.archive.org/web/20060413193842/http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v26/ErikVKing/Magmadar-BeastLore.jpg
826,000 hp
26 raid dps in 1.12 gear will put out 8,840 dps
26 raid dps in 1.2 gear will put out 7,826 dps.
in 1.12 gear, Magmadar dies in about 93.4 seconds
in 1.2 gear, Magmadar dies in about 105.5 seconds.
12 seconds, seems like a lot right? Well, thatâs just on Magmadar. Letâs take a look at Gehennas who has 351,780 hp.
1.12 gear, Gehennas dies in 39.79 seconds
1.2 gear, Gehennas dies in 45 seconds.
Ragnaros?
124 seconds vs
140 seconds
Itemization. Is. Not. A. Big. Deal.
Consumable usage is. But Iâm done doing your work. just lmao that you never responded to this.
Impressive on that, consumables and world buffs make a big difference whole tier set level difference if you are fully buffed from all of it. Luckily flasks will be harder to come by with the normal spawn rate of black lotus compared to p-servers, and reduction on people getting the Onyxia head turn in buff being less likely cause of the longer time frame it takes to be able to turn a head in again.
I didnât include alchemical buffs/world buffs because the topic was solely based on gear, but yes. The amount of extra spell damage you can get is absurd and the real reason why guilds on private servers are able to pull off feats like killing ragnaros in <2 weeks
40 shadow power
35 greater arcane elixir
150 flask
24 wizard oil
The black lotus thing will be interesting, however I donât see it being a problem for the âworld firstâ guilds as everything Iâve seen has put spawns at 60 minutes with maybe a 20 minute variance. Without significant competition from Europeans, farming black lotus in the morning hours when everyone in the US is asleep is very viable.
As always he does good work. There are several other factors to take into account but as far as napkin math goes its a fairly apprioate solution.
Cleared on day one by armies of gnomes running directly to it and glitching in
I already talked with the people coming back with me who are doing herb/alch to gather up as many black lotus as possible and just to save them until AQ40 time. I was never worried about the itemization issue that people are freaking out about.
I see what you did there!
The main issue as I stated earlier is that we have no idea some of the variables from Vanilla. Most of the info on Pvt servers is just made up or best guesses. Add in the above mentioned lack of world buff reliability and the far less common black lotus for flasks. I think a bunch of Pvt server guilds will be in the forum complaining that blizz changed classic because it isnt like their pvt servers. Like the warlock thing from the demo hahaha
