Are those changes for real???
C'mon Blizzard, do your people even play your games??? I mean seriously. Not to be over-dramatic, but changes like this imply only two possible scenarios and both suck. Either your devs don't actually play the game at any level of consequence that they are able to see why these changes are so bad ... or... the people in charge of these decisions are over their head.
Fix this.
Still not fond of this UI. People are constantly going on and offline at random when they're still actively in the game, and it has nothing to do with "offline" status. NO idea what's going on with that.
I don't think they care about the last 95 pages.
Why even keep this thread going? Blizzard clearly does not give a flying **** what we think or actually want. This crap has been in game for MONTHS now....with absolutely nothing but smoke blown up our rear ends.
I really don't know why I keep giving money to a company that does what it wants, and to hell with what the consumers want.

Mine does that too, and often times it will show a bunch of people as being online when they're really not. The only real way to know who's online is to use /groster
I like the new chat UI for the guild, but to fully utilize the guild features I always find myself having to use a combination of both /groster and the new UI.
Because I care about my guild. My guild is basically my extended family. I won't quit this game over the Guild Permissions but it's just another scare on my back.10/16/2018 01:59 PMPosted by OmghaiWhy even keep this thread going? Eventually, we'll hear something about this and if we don't, well it doesn't look good on Blizzard to have an outcry from the community about something like this going on for so long.
I wonder if this was even an intentional change in the first place. lol.

Because if I stop, my wife's tirades about this broken clusterf*** of controls will intensify.
The only reason I got a reprieve last night is because I'm a Blazers fan and Paul Allen died.
I expect more fist-shaking tonight.
This is a very sad reason for a "reprieve."10/16/2018 03:21 PMPosted by VenjinThe only reason I got a reprieve last night is because I'm a Blazers fan and Paul Allen died.
They claimed they wanted more "feedback". At this point I can't recall where this was stated--it may have been a Q&A. In any case, I've been going through the thread each day and bringing up a previous post that either has a great explanation of why the change is bad, or offers suggestions for additional guild upgrades. That way Blizzard (or anyone else) can look through my post history (ignoring the occasional OT post) for a slightly shorter version of the thread.10/16/2018 01:59 PMPosted by OmghaiWhy even keep this thread going?
Because we have already provided tons of feedback and suggestions, and this is just my not-so-subtle way of pointing that out.
Man....bumping again. I'd give feedback but its all been said several times over. We need a response from you Blizz. I'll be here as long as it takes.
Not reverted yet or even an updated comment, Blizz? /sigh

Nobody knows, they won't say anything. They legit either find humor in this or they simply dgaf.
Blizzard's silence is deafening....
Shall we do 100+ pages?
Shall we do 100+ pages?
Maybe it's broken, and beyond their expertise to fix. Kind of like dismounting while in flight was for quite a while. But you wouldn't think that something such as guild permissions would be like that.
I never have to go far on my daily reading to find something to repost. This one from page 37 has a guild master making clear suggestions for what they'd like to see done differently with the guild UI:
Yeah, if I wasn't a born optimist, I would have slit my wrists or jumped out a window decades ago (not hyperbole).
Yes, we're still in July. I suspect as I get to more recent posts there will be fewer posts per day and I'll catch up to present day more quickly. I'm still really hoping there will be a fix before I get to that point.07/28/2018 02:08 PMPosted by DrfeistyGM with a few issues:
1) Can I please get an option turn off guild chat history for my guild? We have a discord for persistent chat already and it just feels weird to use guild chat to now memorialize every "grats" or random convo between the only 2 people online at 3am.
2) I agree the grouping of officer permissions is awful - we need more granular assignment of permissions for things like member notes.
3) It just seems terribly bloated and buggy in general - the previous guild panel was small and easy to navigate, and put guild news on top as the first thing you see. The new UI isn't nearly as sensible in its layout and requires more clicking around. Half the time the news UI is empty now for reasons I can't explain. People online don't initially show in the roster. It feels buggy to me.
I am not really a reactionary and tend to roll with changes but this is one of the most awful things I have seen blizzard do in WoW interfaces in a very long time. It doesn't do much to make running a guild easier at all.
Yeah, if I wasn't a born optimist, I would have slit my wrists or jumped out a window decades ago (not hyperbole).
New interface is not good. I see people online in the list that aren't actually online at all. Then the list refreshes and it's still incorrect. The same applies for communities. To top it all off, there's a load time for the guild menu and that's unacceptable.
So I used an addon that restored the previous Guild interface, and bound it to 'J', just for the list of course and instant-refreshing menu.

It's been 96 pages (and counting) of feedback, no official response since August...
And even then it showed indifference.
Ion asked for feedback--neglecting to acknowledge the plethora we have already provided...
And still, my Guild Controls are Broken.

Hey! I found a post that sort of sounds like they're in favor of the changes (still page 37):
Anyway, here's a counter-argument (same page):
True, the character isn't a guild master and the player seems more interested in pugs than guild events. I wonder if this is actually the dev that thought combining all the permissions was a good idea? If so, it definitely sounds like he/she has a problem with guilds and their "power hungry" GMs.07/28/2018 04:51 PMPosted by PanakeiaThe old system just seems like micro managing to me. More suitable for power hungry GMs. Guilds should be more intimate and based more around trust. Communities are the way of the future for the pug community.
Anyway, here's a counter-argument (same page):
07/28/2018 08:04 PMPosted by ÆthelwulfCommunities may indeed be the way of the future for pugs. But Communities are not guilds. Guilds have different needs than do Communities and the conversation at hand is about guilds.
The old system was indeed a management system for the guild (far from creating micro managers (you generally bring that to the table with you when you join a guild)) it allowed Guild Masters the fine grained control necessary to assign specific guild ranks precise duties and the tools necessary to perform specific functions within the guild. It followed the Principle of Least Privilege (which if you have read this thread you have seen some of us myself included nearly write dissertations on why that kind of control is necessary) which was a good thing and made our job easier. The new changes to permissions have caused vast problems for GM's which, given the current state of guilds across the gamut in Azeroth, is the one thing that should not have been caused. The last thing on earth a guild master needed right now was for Blizzard to CAUSE problems for them.
The absolute best thing that can be done is for Blizzard to see this thread acknowledge the issue as an issue and put it on the priority list of items to hotfix asap. Anything less is frankly not acceptable and will cause an increased risk of guilds disbanding and subscribers and token purchaser to simply walk away.
Same old....same old situation...
