Still here, still disappointed in the lack of action.
Hello. Welcome back to our little echo chamber. Itâs an echo chamber because thereâs hardly anyone here, and we just keep repeating ourselves because the permissions still havenât been fixed.
It wouldnât be that bad, I suppose, if Ion hadnât said they were working on a fix. But he did. And seriously, that was like, five years ago. There are a lot of things I could say about that, but I want to stay polite.
Have a good day, yâall. See you again sometime soon (because we all know nothingâs going to be done about the permissions, and the thread will still be here, so Iâll keep posting).
On the new survey, in the last feedback box, I reminded them that permissions were still borked and that it is more than 5 years since Ion said âtell us whatâs wrong and we can fix itâ.
Not much but it is just another way to make my voice heard, if they actually read them or not, they may treat it the same as this void.
I wish they would send me a survey.
I canât decide if itâs worse that Ion prevaricated and gave us false hope, or that they screwed up the permissions in the first place. I do feel like if they arenât going to fix things, they should just come out and say so.
The fact that Ion said they were working on a fix and they havenât contradicted that, makes me think they have intentions of fixing things. When they get around to it. Someday. When they donât have anything more pressing to do.
They have intentions. Good ones. And we all know what road is paved by those.
Their silence after this many years should be all that needs to be said. lol
The last thing they said was the change wasnât intentional and they were working on a fix. If thatâs not the case any more they very well SHOULD say so, no matter how long itâs been. As frustrating as the years of silence have been, thatâs still no answer. They donât get off the hook that easy.
Still here; still waiting.
There is some reason to hope, as Guild Updates are on the War Within pre-patch feature list, slated per the graphic for this coming summer

Which was over 5 years ago.
Many years ago, I was a probably 18 or 19 years old, a friend and I were going to get an apartment together. We never did. We also stopped talking. Probably a solid 8 years later, I was married and we had our own place at the time, my old friend gets ahold of me. Life hasnât worked out so well for them due to piss poor life choices. My old friend brought up when we were going to get an apartment together many years prior and asked if I was still interested.
So was my friend, apparently.
Thatâs what this threads just reminded me of.
Well, I guess youâre allowed to be reminded of whatever you get reminded of, but itâs a bad analogy. Blizz hasnât moved on to a totally new life. Theyâre still producing WoW. Theyâre still doing content updates. Guilds still exist. They specifically asked us for our feedback on this issue and told us to put it in THIS thread.
Are they ghosting us? Damn sure seems like it. But they told us to communicate with them through this thread, and even though we donât really have anything new to add after all these years (and plenty of great suggestions for guild improvements have already been made here), Iâm not just going to just let it drop.
Youâre welcome to come here and tell us weâre weird or nuts or whatever. Your comments help keep the thread going, and I appreciate that. But if you think your remarks are going to make me or the other few diehards here stop commenting, you might need to think again.
5 years, 5 months, and 21 days⌠yeah, you got ghosted. Blizzard gave you the wrong phone number.
Damn. Thought you were going to write the hours and minutes, too.
Why not? All ours have always been. If the GM doesnât want it changed he can let us know to keep it up until a certain date.
Apparently if only certain people canât change the MotD many of the supposed GMâs in this thread arenât able to run their guilds.
Sweet. Apparently you havenât read the many, many posts from âsupposedâ guild leaders about how they used the permissions in the past and why the current configuration doesnât work for them. Letting people run their guilds the way they want doesnât seem to be up your ally, but thatâs okay. Youâre allowed your opinion. And thanks for keeping the thread alive.
Youâre welcome.
Greatfather Winter didnât bring granulated permissions. It would have been a nice Winter Veil present, but, oh well.
/Sigh.
I know there are greater priorities. But having a strong guild system isnât a niche thing. Guilds build friendships, and friends are why people play through content droughts and bad expansions. Allowing guild leaders flexibility in how they run their guilds is never a bad thing.
Not every guild is the same. Not every guild should be the same. Guild management needs to be fully customizable for a healthy guild system. Granular permissions are part of that needed customization. Please restore them.
An underwhelming reaction to your post. I guess people were so quick to go fight with Kiper, they missed this?
Guild Updates. Not a vague promise. Not a thing from an interview. Not a misquote. Itâs real. The main fix will be, and this is from my many replies from reporting the Guild Vault bugs, a data purge/reset so the entire log system for guilds will work again. Everything from achievements/weapon and mount drops, deposits/withdrawals in the GBank, and even when players join or quit are completely broken. They occasionally work and often we get things like Guild Achievements randomly announcing that we got 7 years ago lol, or that a player got a mount 5 years ago in News. We, guild leaders who have been reporting these bugs, have been assured this will be fixed.
PrePatch should hit June/July 2024. Iâm looking forward to it!
Looking forward to it here too. My best guess is people may have lost hope that guild permissions specifically, which this thread is about wonât be part of the Guild Updates on the patch feature post, but I wonât give up hope.
