Things are pretty much the same as usual. My guild bank is getting filled up. Members are donating more than they take out (despite messages telling them to take anything they can use).
It would be cool to have a member I can rely on to help run things (and maybe keep the bank sorted) but again, there are some permissions I just want for myself. Is it really asking that much to have granular permissions restored? Or are y’all just waiting for me to chuck it and forget about this issue so you can close the thread and let the the whole thing die away. Kind of like it the way it seems you’re managing the game, to be honest.

Spent all day at the clinic where my hubby was getting skin cancer treatments. (It was boring, but not as terrible as the “c-word” makes it sound.) I’m too wiped to log in and see if there have been any improvements to the permissions. Since there’s no celebrating here, I have to assume nothing has changed.
Not really surprised. It’s like WoW and disappointment are becoming synonyms.

Even though I’m not a GM and my interest in WoW wanes with each day I don’t play (which is many- also attributed to my picking up new hobbies/interests outside the game)… I still periodically check this thread to see if there’s anything new.
It’s immensely disappointing to continually see no response to all our feedback, and to hear absolute radio silence from Blizz on an issue they at least cared enough to address in a Q&A.
Which I’ve noticed they haven’t done one in a long, long time, and I’ll admit I gotta wonder why. Could just be a lack of time or need to focus on the new expansion… but the cynic in me is leaning more towards the idea that they got tired of all the backlash (justified or not) for their non-answers and inaction, and so just… stopped communicating.
Yanno, despite saying they’d be making concerted efforts to communicate MORE with us.
It may be February already Blizz, but I have faith. New Year’s Resolutions can be done at any time, so I hope this has been one of yours.

Thank you. He’s doing fine. It’s not malignant. They already removed all the cancer spots. Yesterday’s treatment is supposed to make it so he doesn’t get any more.
We live in the desert at 6700 ft. so the sun here is wicked. Maybe he’ll listen to me and use more sunblock from now on. I feel like there’s a better chance of that than of Blizzard fixing our permissions (even though he has some kind of guy thing about not needing to protect himself from the sun).

I am so tired of logging in and seeing no changes to the permissions.
I know, I know. It’ll probably have to be on the PTR before it goes live, but still…
Very, very sad.
I feel like Ion was lying to us when he said they were working on it. It’s such a shame when people look straight into the camera and lie. Maybe Ion’s always wanted a career as an actor…

At least this thread is still active so that those of us who are patiently waiting for the promised fixes can tell Blizz that this is still a real problem for us. That’s the only good thing I can say about the whole issue.

I have this horrible feeling that Anthony Davis will play a full 82-game season before this is fixed.

Still waiting to hear something about this problem.
With the new Guild Finder, I can’t even let my Ambassadors invite from the Guild Finder recruits, because it’s part of the cluster of Officer permissions.
This needs changed. Our permissions need split up again.
If they want to have community permissions, fine. Separate them from my freaking guild permissions.

I didn’t notice this. Though I did notice that Fumel’s new members would send him a note asking if he would invite their alts (because he’s the only one with the invite privilege, I guess). Or they would apply to the guild with an alt and put a note like, “This is so-and-so’s alt.”
I think the new finder is better than the old one, but it does need some tweaks. Maybe they’ll get those done when they fix the permissions. Oh, wait… that doesn’t sound nearly as optimistic as I meant it to be. Maybe it’s just impossible to be optimistic about this anymore.

Is it bad that every time there’s even the smallest update on the launcher, I log in and check to see if the permissions have been fixed? And since they (of course) haven’t been, I get really depressed and log out within a few minutes.
This issue is really killing my desire to play. I’m getting to the point where only my stubbornness keeps me coming here to complain because I’m finding it hard to care about the game any more at all. That’s really not a good thing.

Haven’t logged in today, and I don’t think I’m going to. I don’t want to see that we’ve gotten no fix for the permissions yet. I’m just not up to it right now.
It’s not the overall game that bothers me, it’s all the little things, like Blizzard removing stuff and not fixing things they say they’re going to fix, that have made it so I just don’t want to play. I feel like there’s nothing to look forward to.

I don’t think they are ever going to fix the permissions. It’s clearly an intentional (and unpopular) change that the devs will stubbornly keep even as people hate the loss of control over guild rank permissions.

ROFL at the overall perspective of things:
Sonic The Hedgehog Movie was released and is doing well AND The XFL has come back with a semi-positive reception.
Both these things happened BEFORE Guild Controls were reverted to their previously glorious state.

Well, Ion said it was unintentional. I know he’s a lawyer, but Blizzard’s never had any problem saying they liked things the way they are. Him saying it was unintentional and they’re working on a fix was completely out of character (in my opinion). Normally they just say “working as intended.”
I think I can be excused for believing he wasn’t lying and we’ll get a fix some day. I just don’t know if that day will come while I’m still playing.

I got another new member and another request to join my guild today. It seems like even an alt guild that doesn’t do anything can be (slightly) relevant.
How much better could we be if we had granular permissions so the members could get more involved in the guild? Will we ever find out?
