…and they have a Cave Troll!
Sounds like a good idea but goes against the whole idea of everyone crying about master loot and loot counsel regarding supposedly unjust systems.
Master loot and loot council were not considered (or required) in the formulation of suggestion. It would work exactly like any individual’s bonus loot roll, except it would award the result to a random member of the raid. It’s use would be controlled either by the GM or the GM + others if they so choose to split the power.
Ah, you didn’t clarify how the loot would be distributed and the folowing part would suggest an idea similar to a counsel -
You complain about others posting information out of context as you actually do that very thing.
You forgot to mention why the then very large and active group that was posting here on this thread during that time chose to “ignore” your new post. It was because you were posting it on the bug report thread.
The permissions issue was never a bug.
Everyone knew that (except you I suppose) and refused to bail on what was already a mega thread. You keep trying to reintroduce the idea anyway because…
You also forgot to mention that at that very same time your guild was somehow, some way, magically able to incorporate the new guild permissions you had until that moment so venomously opposed. You suddenly became hostile to anyone and everyone who was against the new permissions, and thus became the oft named “pet troll” of this thread.
You keep saying this yet you refuse to show any proof whatsoever even though you’ve been asked to do so on many occasions over the last year.
You also wont explain how you personally made the new guild permissions work for your guild even though you’ve also been asked to do that on many occasions
You might be right.
But…
You can’t and very likely don’t know that.
Even if you did. So what?
Your server (and your guild) are not the only ones on Wow.
No Che.
That’s all you.
You know, you’re one weird fellow, Che. I have yet to figure out what exactly we’re supposed to be accomplishing by doing this so-called “padding”.
Fumel will never get trust level 3 because this is pretty much the only thread in which he participates (he has occasionally posted in other threads when I forgot to switch back, but it’s rare). And Brahmina doesn’t need this thread at all to “pad her stats”–she’d still be level 3 if you removed everything she’s posted here.
I had to quote this just because.
By the way, no quote is ever “out of context” because they always link directly back to the original post. All anyone has to do is click the little down arrow and they can see the entire thing.
I know you don’t believe me, but the only reasons I post here is to remind Blizz that we haven’t forgotten that they promised us a fix and to give the feedback they specifically requested.
Moving on:
I think this is a terrific idea. We need more guild perks, and this would be a great one.
This part is what makes it extra good. The loot would be awarded completely randomly–no complaints about an officer playing favorites–but it would still make gearing through guild groups more viable than pugging. win/win
Just to clarify, the only purpose of a “voted use” is to prevent the possibility of one person blowing the token over the objections of others, which of course would have to be a setting in guild permissions, which of course would have to be separated out based upon the GM’s preference, which of course is gonna happen because any second they’re gonna announce the fix.
And that’s the bottom line, 'cause Stone Cold Said So!
Fu**it, lets roll with this train! Make it so the token could be earned, up to 3 per week, by doing Guild (4+ members) Mythic Dungeons. Or you could give guilds resources per dailies completed by members, and said resources could also purchase the token. Shoot, toss Guild Rated Arena in there as a way to win them for all I care.
Just do something! (To help guilds. Not neuter them. Because that sucks.)
All of these! Choices and variety are always good!
I’d like to see some new pets/mounts available from the guild vendor, even if they were just recolors, possibly tied to mass murder of mob types; I think I mentioned something akin to this before…somewhere up there…
Sort of like getting the armadillo or whatever it is by killing…waaayyy too many critters. Guild kills, say, 10,000 horses, and then they can buy a purple horse. Or however many dragonkin kills nets ya a little dragon pet or something. Little things like that would go a long way, I think.
I support this 100%. It’s been a long time since guilds had any new perks. We’re way overdue for some significant improvements beyond the guild permissions (which would simply be a reversion to what we had and not something new).
More on guild perks:
I would like to see more ways for small guilds to earn things. Like, if you’re partied with another guildie–just one other guildie, not a full group–you can earn things. Maybe not as fast as when doing full groups, but it still counts. So two guildies running island expeditions, or dungeons, or questing together, can earn things.
I don’t really have any specific things in mind. Dlaciabia’s idea about mounts and pets is good. Venjin’s idea about an extra guild loot token is also good. Maybe there could be a chest of flasks or other crafted items (or mats) that guilds could earn by completing content together.
Mostly I just want guilds to have more things to work toward, and to make it so even small guilds can earn them.
When completing quests with guild members, if said quests reward gear, add +1 ilevel to the gear per guild member in the party who participated in the questline.
Hello everyone,
I’m checking in again to make sure my voice is heard. Everyone contributing to this discussion needs to keep doing so. So far we’ve been ignored.
As of now, I still haven’t assigned anyone in our guild with the “Is Officer” check box since there are certain permissions I will not assign, regardless of rank. As a result, nobody in the guild has access to any of those eight privileges since they’re all lumped together in a one-size-fits-all definition of “an officer,” as defined by someone on the Blizzard WoW team. I’ve been playing WoW since 2005, raiding since 2005 MC, and leading our guild as guild master since 2007. I know our guild and how to effectively manage it, not some stranger at Blizzard.
Please give us the individual permission customization we had prior to patch 8.0. That’s all I’m asking for.
For further recommendations to help guild management, add a complete log/record system for the guild bank so the guild master can keep track of cumulative records on gold deposits, gold repairs, gold withdraws, item deposits, and item withdraws. If WoW developers can create and maintain a statistics tab with all kinds of totally useless information for my character’s history, they can add a feature that lets me keep track of guild bank records. That would actually help guilds and their leaders manage things like donations rather than have to make Google sheets and such.
Please address this problem. This thread began on July 17, 2018. We’re now at September 20, 2019. It’s been over one full year now. That’s absurd.
Many other recommendations to help guilds have already been provided in this thread. This information can be gleaned from some eager, hard-working interns and would make a good project. You have what you need, and the “discussion” has already occurred. Read it, and pass the information along to the next group of people who need to make the corrections. Failure to do so will just further the stereotypes of poor communication and the apparent growing disregard for the gaming and guild community of WoW… which is sad.
I will continue to check in here until the change is made. Everyone else needs to do so, too.

This is a great idea. I like proportionate rewards: more guildies = higher ilvl, but even a two-man group gets something from it.
I kept looking at the patch notes for Tuesday’s patch and I saw nothing about the guild recruiting improvements talked about earlier. Is that still happening and they just left it out of the notes? I’m not on the PTR, so I don’t know what’s been going on there.
Yes, it is on the most recent PTR build. I guess we’ll find out for sure on Tuesday, but it’s looking like the guild finder is coming out.
Thanks for answering. I was getting worried. I hate that they don’t put everything in the patch notes anymore.
While I know we aren’t going to get any other major improvements to guilds this patch, having even this one oft-requested improvement is a step in the right direction. I’m thinking now that they’re actually going to do some serious overhauils for guilds in the next expansion, which is why we haven’t heard anything beyond, “We’re working on it.” They don’t want to make any “promises” until the development is just about done. Fingers are crossed!
Eh, it still looks like the same system that was already in place, just with some new paint to make it look pretty so people might forget how absolutely awful it is. Then also applying it to the community system.
It allows offline invites, which is a huge improvement in my opinion. It also has a search function that never existed in the original. So, yeah, really not the same at all if you ask me. (Offline invites were one of the many ideas repeatedly brought up in this thread, so it’s definitely a sign that Blizz is paying at least some attention.)
