So, continuing my read-through of this thread. From August 11, here is a nice, clear listing of guild issues that need to be addressed.
It should be noted that August 11 was when the hotfix allowing guild chat silences and letting players set their own personal notes was applied. Since then, no action of any kind has been taken to address the guild management problems mentioned in this thread. There has been no comment from Blizzard in this thread since August 6. Though questions regarding the guild management issues have been submitted to the Q&Aâs since the patch that started this mess went live, none have been answered.
TL:DR:
Permissions are still all lumped together. Weâre still giving our feedback, but are getting none in return.
Blizzard hoping we just give up.
Why has this still been ignored?

Also had a couple of folks tell me today that they canât RSVP as Tentative to guild events now. So thereâs that, too.
[/quote] Yup, this is still happening, which is annoying.
On the bright side, the fact that this is kind of a new behavior means they are still tinkering, but theyâre just not verbose about it.
I also noticed (a few days ago) I could not see specific times under guild status (e.g., offline for n hours). It just showed folks as binary on- or offline. Now, specific times are back. So, unless that was just some random bug with an addon, thereâs further proof that they are still tinkering.
Keep giving feedback!
Because they can.
Question: How long has that âbulletinâ button been there next to the Voice Chat button in the UI?
Bumpy bump bumpâŠstill need an answer Blizz, not going away!

A Safe and Merry Christmas to everyone!
The disgruntled Guild Leaders
(The one not so disgruntled Guild Leader)
Unhappy Wow players,
The (seemingly) rare happy Wow players,
Concerned guildies,
EtcâŠ
And even to you Blizzard! You big old fun loathing Burgermeister Meisterburger you.
(By the way, guild permissions are still broken!)
More than permissions are broken. Forced persistent chat is a problem, as well as playerâs characters being able to appear offline in the roster while actually being online. Appear offline was supposed to effect battlenet only.
Why did Blizzard have to go and âfixâ what wasnât broken? Just changes for the sake of changes.
Grabbing a midnight snack a la leftovers before I crash. Yes, I eat midnight snacks at 4:42 AM big whoop wantafightaboutit?
Sleepwhappitybump. Say anythiiiiing.
What is wrong with persistent chat? I like being able to see what I missed while offline.
Merry Christmas to everybody who celebrates!
PssstâŠHey Bliz, you know what you could give as a great Christmas present?
It has to do with the original subject of this threadâŠ
Oh, and Bliz: Ignore that other stupid thread.
Removing guilds would be akin to moving to Venezuela with the intention of selling chopsticks on the street for $1,000.00 each, plus taxes, with no refunds, while keeping $500,000.00 in a tin can right beside you.
At this point, given the many unnecessary changes made by this dev team since WoD onward, Iâve concluded theyâre just out to destroy the legacy of their betters. Most of their system changes (loot, Guild UI, camera, etc) are nonsensical.
Almost like they are changing the game so it can be played on a small touch screen hmmâŠ
you guys have phones?
Happy Winter VeilâŠbump.
Thereâs nothing inherently wrong with the concept. Itâs mainly how itâs implemented. 1) because itâs forced and not optional. Why canât we have multiple chat channels in guild with the ability to set whether itâs persistent or not?
- Persistent chat for the people that are currently in the guild is one thing. But any and all future members can also scroll back through and read what was said before they were even in the guild?!
Same deal with officer chat. I guarantee you absolutely nothing remotely sensative gets discussed there anymore.
It fundamentally changes the feel of the chat from a chat room to a potentially public forum.
I never would have met the friends I have now were it for persistent chat because I never would have had anything remotely resembling personal conversations with the current system.
They also made it to where people can appear offline and lurk in guild chat, which I find creepy as hell. When I type in a chat room I like to know who Iâm talking to.
The fact that this issue has been put on the back burner for 6 months is so frustrating.
Iâm not being hyperbolic when I say these changes have ruined the game for me. Iâve played this game for more than a decade, spent thousands of dollars and even when I was upset with the state of the game it still felt like home, mainly because of guilds.
Now thatâs gone.
And now I will be too until this gets fixed.
This makes me sad. I donât understand why the folks at Blizzard canât see that the guild changes are literally the last straw for many, many folks.
Making an advanced tab so GMâs could divide them up if they so wished doesnât seem like too much to ask.
