Pretty amazing that we still don’t even know their stance on the permissions.
Say.
Something.
Please.

Oh, I hope they don’t get rid of it. Aside from the permissions being a mess, the /groster is much easier for me to use than the current UI. I was thinking of going ahead and putting it on a hot key.
I don’t really know how well either UI works for folks with truly large guilds. My guild is so small, I don’t honestly need anything fancy to manage it. It doesn’t matter for my guild that the permissions are all under one umbrella, since I don’t need any other officers besides myself.
However, I’ve been fighting this battle (so to speak) to get the permissions broken up again because it’s very obvious to me that larger guilds need this flexibility. Not every guild, of course. But that’s why we’ve said throughout this thread that an optional “advanced” tab, where permissions could be assigned as the GM desires, would be ideal.
When I’m not feeling like giving up in disgust, I hold onto the hope that someone is working on this–as one of a bajillion other projects they’ve been assigned–and that it’ll be implemented just as soon as they can get it done. And the reason we’ve not been told anything is that they have no idea when they can get it done and they are leery of saying anything that might be construed as a “promise”.
When I’m feeling optimistic, anyway.
9 days.
That is how much time is left in my subscription. I am not planning to resub to WoW until one of two things happens:
The guild changes are either reverted or fixed in such a capacity that is satisfactory(optional persistent chat, unbundling of rank permissions).
Classic WoW launches.
I think back to pre BFA launch, all the plans I had for my guild. I had the largest group of my friends ever coming back to the game. But we were cut off at the start by these wretched guild UI changes, which made the plans I had for it literally impossible to carry out.
Blizzard has demonstrated clear as day for the last half a year that they absolutely do not make the things I care about a priority. And thus with great sadness will be letting my sub lapse.
Could we get an update on this?
It is definitely an ongoing challenge
especially with the guild hierarchy.
Running an RP guild, and we used to use /g for out of character chatter and /o for in character chatter, and now, if I want to be able to continue to do this, I need to make every single person in my guild an officer.
What we had before was so limited, but people still found a way to utilize it in creative ways.
This is just yet another example of why these changes were poorly thought out.
An update would be very nice. It is difficult to run a guild with this guild ui and permission system setup
Apparently I’ve overlooked people who’ve requested to join my guild, because of the new UI. I found them by doing /groster.
I can’t believe how this awful, clunky thing was put in and is still in.
Also had a couple of folks tell me today that they can’t RSVP as Tentative to guild events now. So there’s that, too.
I am so frustrated.
Hey Blizz,
I still don’t like the guild permissions changes
Here (again) to check for any updates on this issue, dissapointed there is none
Adding another bump. Because even though I’m hardly playing right now, I still want this fixed for those who are and for those to whom it matters.
Yeah, I’m sorry to say I ran out of energy to keep posting in here, but I’m happy to see people keeping up the good fight here.
Please, Blizz - just revert. The guild controls needed a lot of help, but you went in the OPPOSITE direction of what is needed.
I’m planning to make a post here at least once a day until my sub runs out.
8 days now. Either fixing an issue that has received unanimously negative feedback is important enough to prioritize, or this will continue to be swept under the rug.
As an ATVI shareholder I am extremely disappointed in the level of quality I’ve thus far observed with regards to this issue.
shakes head
only this issue?
Well, we can only tilt at one windmill at a time (and it certainly feels like that’s what we’re doing here).
Hey, Venjin, maybe we need some appropriate lyrics to The Impossible Dream. (I’d do it, but I really stink at lyrics.)
I think a at this point we need to organize some actual protests and start sending real letters to blizzard HQ or finding people who will actually listen as using the forums to try to resolve the issues has been a complete failure.
as using the forums to try to resolve the issues has been a complete failure.
For more then just this issue.
using the forums to try to resolve the issues has been a complete failure.
To be absolutely fair to Blizzard, some issues mentioned on the forums have been resolved with alacrity (the Smoochums debacle is the most recent that comes to my mind). However, we have NO way to know if it was the forums complaints that caused the resolution or some other impetus entirely.
In this thread, we were told that Blizzard is aware of our problem and were thanked for our “continued feedback.”
As you can imagine we’re aware of this thread but don’t have anything to share at this time but just wanted to say thanks for the continued feedback on this one. As soon as we have something to share we will post that for you guys.
Since then, crickets.
I can understand if there’s a technical issue delaying any sort of fix, or if the problem is simply one of resources and time. What seems irresponsible and unforgivable is the complete lack of further communication.
We’re not asking for the moon here, guys. We just want to know if this problem is even on the to-do list. Even something as vague as, “We do have plans to improve the guild experience, and we’ll let you know more when we have more to share” would be better than what we’ve gotten thus far.
Yes, I realize that would encourage folks to start yammering, “WHEN!” At least we’ll know we’re not being totally ignored and that there’s hope for a fix. People can put up with a lot of garbage when they feel there’s at least a glimmer of hope. Without hope, they give up.
Give us a little hope, Blizz. PLEASE!
Bliz doesn’t pay attention to these forums, you have to be into Twitter ( I hate social media) for them to care in any way and they really don’t even then. . .Sad, they used to care, and they used to watch/respond fairly timely, USED TO, not any more.
LOL, now XP-off is being disabled for 110s. The disconnect is MIND-NUMBINGLY HILARIOUS.
Maybe they should have taken my suggestion for “is a programmer” by this point just to get some fresh ideas.
