I wonder if that means this thread will stay. The original post about the new forums said threads "made" in the last two weeks will be kept. "Active threads" sounds a lot more like we won't lose this one.

I’d be very surprised if either version of the thread makes it over.. this is the time Blizzard is just going to “accidentally” not get threads they’re ignoring moved over.. it’s part of their “ignore it till it goes away” community philosophy.

Hey, it looks like our thread made it. :grinning: Now I just have to figure out how to use these forums…

In the meantime, Blizz, please separate the all-in-one guild permissions that are currently lumped under “is officer”. Guild leaders need options, not handcuffs.

It would be nice to know if Blizzard is paying any attention to this. The lack of communication on the topic of guilds in general is disconcerting.

People have explained, in detail, why having the permissions lumped together is a terrible idea. They’ve also made many excellent suggestions for other improvements to the guild UI and guilds in general.

Isn’t there anything anyone there at HQ can tell us about any of this? :pleading_face:

A couple of my WoW friends and I hopped into GW2 last night and made a test guild to see what their options were. We like what we see so far - it’s the model that I’ve wanted in Warcraft since forever - so we’re going to explore that a bit more.

I love the friendships I’ve developed through WoW, but I loathe the game in it’s current state. It’s not that I think GW2 is amazing, but right now, it’s way better for me and my friends than WoW is. Maybe we’ll end up over there until WoW can get it’s mojo back. Maybe not. But it’s an option and as a leader, I need to provide options for my people.

My wife abandoned the sinking WoW ship mid-Legion. She’s currently playing NeverWinter–on PS4, no less… and part of a very active guild there. The controls are fairly excellent, and Guilds can form Alliances, grouping them together–much like WoW Communities should have worked. I’m looking at moving over there for a bit, just for the not-broken social aspect.

Well, I think we should take that as hopeful. (How hopeful? Meh. I don’t know)

The guilds are still broken. Wow is still broken.

Someone above me here said something to the effect that Blizzard needs to say something about this issue. (Sorry, It’s been a long day and I am too lazy to go quote it)

We know that they (Blizz) know this thread exists but we almost always find that out second hand.

Sorta “Heard it from a friend who, heard it from a friend who, heard it from another you been borking our guilds” (yeah, I promised some time ago to leave the song lyrics to them who knows how. I should listen to me)

Regardless, I for one feel that way.

This way: Shoved aside. Not important enough to Blizzard to be addressed directly, only “second handedly” (is that even a word?) Blizzard has stated that they know this thread exists, but only on other threads. We’ve had an MVP take up our cause and speak to Blizzard directly at Blizzcon (and I for one am so grateful for that!)

However, Blizzard has not yet told us anything beyond “they are looking into it” and that was months ago.

What I really want, (and I have stated this previously) is an answer one way or the other.

1} Is Blizzard working on a way to fix this issue?
2} Is this madness working as intended and we need to forget getting control of our guilds restored to us?

Someone also mentioned changing games at least for now until Blizzard gets it’s collective head out of it’s collective behind. I can hardly blame them. I myself was thinking that instead of changing games, changing eras so to speak. If this issue isn’t going to be fixed, I may wait until Classic Wow is released and recreate my guild there on a Classic server. I played Classic so I am already hyped to see it once it’s live. At least we as Guild Leaders should have our guild functions / control, restored to us there.

I don’t know.

Blizzard: please revert the guild functions. The UI is less important, but the granulation of ranks is huge, so please give it back! It would be great if y’all could assign someone there at Blizzard to comb this thread for the best ideas for new options and incorporate them… but failing that, give back the old UI and functions.
