The new dwarven allied race looks great imo

Reskins/subtle changes:
Nelf/Nightborne
Belf/Velf
Orc/Maghar
Troll/Zandalari
Tauren/HMT
Gnome/Mechagnome
Dwarf/DID
Draenei/LFD

Transformations:
Human/Worgen
(Human/Belf)/Dracthyr

Decently different:
Human/Kul Tiran

Very different/outliers:
Goblin/Vulpera
Undead
Panda

I don’t think so. The race literally wasted another slot on Alliance and this is not acceptable.

What slots?

With the current system they can’t add buttons over buttons on the character screen. At some point the developers need to switch to a base race-system with subraces dropdown-fields, where the racials changes.

And secondly, it looks just bad that the Alliance has no race diversity. They are in need for unique races.

I can’t get into the Earthen.

WildStar did it better, with Granok.

Why do Earthen have hair, if they aren’t even alive? Rocks don’t have hair.

Other games I’ve played (like WildStar) have rock-beings with moss and roots for facial hair instead of just plain hair, and it works better thematically.

Earthen, I’m just disappointed lol.

The only thing about them that I think is cool is their society and the fact the females have beards. But imo it’s not enough to make me want to play one.

They redesigned the character screen a few years ago to make more space. I think they can figure out how to do it again if need be.

That was my initial reaction to that as well. But now having seen them in the dressing room on wowhead, well I’ll just link to a post I made earlier rather than retype it.

I’ll give them a go if you can play them without the crystals growing out of their bodies.

The issue they created was giving the re-skins heritage armor; meaning you have to level as them specifically if you want it.

From the get-go, they really should have just added them in as customization options. There’s no reason LF Draenei or Velf needed to be thier own races, since they’re literally Draenei and Belves that were altered.

Hmm okay, so that option looks better than what I’ve seen. It’s like rope or twine, or even something like steel wool?

I guess I’ll have to see more, but still disappointed there’s no mossy or leafy beards.

I have to say, their paladin mount and earth-rams looked very cool. They have strange earthen-mules as well.

OP is right. I was completely uninterested in the race, but as we’ve learned more about them, i have to admit they’re quite cool. Feels fresh, not just another dwarf reskin. I’m definitely going to make one or two as alts.

Their customization options slaps ngl

Do they? As far as I can tell they neglect both the other three dwarven races for this. At least some of the beards could have been brought over.

Don’t forget Earthen are 25% bigger than the rest of Dwarves so that’s nice.

Me: enjoy something
Someone on the forum: omg arghhrwoijoisg rarrrar!!!

I am 100% for more player options.

That’s Blastkrizzle basically.

I still think hardly anyone is gonna be playing Earthen 1 year into the expac. At least with Dracthyr Blizz was able to force people to play them due to the evoker lock. But without such a forced lock in for Earthen, I just don’t see it happening. Dwarves are just not a popular race in wow. It’s probably why they’ve already begun setting up a backup plan with the new Harronir race. Likely a last minute fix once they saw the luke warm reception to the Earthen announcement at blizzcon.

Aren’t they just basically ā€œā€œfurry Night Elvesā€ā€, as stupid as it sounds? Even this race isn’t really interesting. Whoever is in charge for the races really needs to step down.

The elemental looking sets from DF season 1 looks pretty good with them.
