I love it, you’ll hear mostly complaints on any forum though. We all know it’s just elf mains whining because we didn’t get a fifth elf race anyways.

Adding another dwarf race and saying its different because theyre made of stone is the same as Smithers going nuts over Malibu Stacys new hat.
I thought the Ethreals in BC were pretty cool. Theyre unique.

Void elves (which admittedly I got a lot of lol)
Blood Elves (also got a lot of admittedly lol)
Night Elves
Nightbornes (at least they are pretty cool)
And sorta dracthyr with the male side blood elf visage
Human
Kul’tiran (just a bigger boned human really)
Again sorta dracthyr with the female side visage form
Orc/Mag’har
Football/Mechanical Football
Trolls/Zandalari
tauren/high mountain
goblin I guess is sorta by itself
And finally dwarf/dark iron and now earthen.

Vulpera (and goblins) are probably the only unique races really, though vulpera may use the goblin model (not sure) still look way different than a goblin
So…out of all those, really only two races that stand out as having no equivalent whether they use same model or not look too different even if they do
Earthen dwarves however look pretty different than the other dwarves, and are bigger is the main thing. So they don’t really share the dwarf model. As some pointed out, they stand at a human’s height to their lips…quite a size difference compared to other dwarves.
Elves have the most…well…elves playable. And all the subskins of elves (high elves, undead elves etc, even if cosmetic, but not counting those just pointing it out, the other races have subskins too). Humans come in third if you count the human visage, and tbh, I see more people in visage form than dragon form tbh so I’d say it counts. So dwarves tie with humans now for playable races next expansion
(wait I forgot worgen and this character is a worgen xD. So actually humans have four variants actually, tied with elves almost, just one short, if you count dracthyr’s visage which like I said, I personally do).

I’d be excited, but I’ve reached the threshold where my over-full warband already consumes every available hour of my play time.
The earthen are about as similar to dwarves as kul tirans are to humans; they’re a whole other culture that has been isolated from their descendants for literally thousands of years; to me this makes them a great choice since it gives us fresh perspective and lore.
Women with thick beard hair is really cringey, not going to lie.

Save the gnomes when we had a chance of a future without gnomes.
I think they look good and I’m sure they’ll grow on me as we learn more about them in game.
I think it just comes down to people having their own idea of what they’d like to see added to the game. There’s a lot of awesome WoW and general fantasy races/ancestries they could draw from. So for some, seeing them go to another Dwarf, rather than something brand new was disappointing, which I can understand.
That being said, I don’t think the Earthen look bad or anything. I think they’re cool as a stand alone race for sure.
Though, they’ve got nothing on being a being a Dragon…but they can stay.

i like playing dwarves but i thought the earthen looked cool so was planning to switch.

Do they? The size seems the same as other dwarves, but Blizzard mentioned few times they’re actually bigger than normal dwarves…
Meh, we need another dwarf like we need another elf or small cutesy race. It’s a world of fantasy! Get FANTASTICAL! So boring…
