The most insulting thing about warlocks this expansion is the covenant abilities

Regardless of their tuning and how fun they are or are not, its despicable that all 4 warlock covenant abilities for every spec is just basically garbage compared to what other classes get.

The flagship feature of the expansion and not a single one feels good to press. No other class has it this bad across the board.

Necrolord for Destruction:

  • Cast time seems to be way too long, while the direct damage is too weak.
  • Super awkward to use in m+. Pretty useless in AoE
  • The long cast time makes it kinda bad to use inside your 12 sec Havoc window.

I think the spell would feel much better to use if it had a shorter cast time, or had some AoE splash damage, or generated a full soul shard or a combination of these.

Overall I agree. Other classes seem to get a much more impactful covenant ability. Ours seem to be just barely even worth casting.

Decimating Bolt feels like I can do just fine never casting it

Kinda sad

I feel the same way about the legendary abilities. They feel so underwhelming.

Especially when in the majority of situations the best legendary for all 3 specs is the 10-15% buff to us and demons. A passive dmg boost that doesn’t affect gameplay in any way or form.

I have managed to find one sort of engaging interaction as Kyrian Demo. Using Pelagos, you get a decent mastery buff for 15s when you use the covenant ability. So when a fight starts, I build up a few imp stacks and a set of dogs, and Scouring Tithe and then Tyrant. The buff to demon damage during the Tyrant cooldown is nice and it’s the best I can get.

Also I like looking like a heavenly undead demon master.

Legendaries dosnt feel like legendaries!

Soul Rot as affliction is a lot of fun. The mastery buff you get with Niya feeds into rapture bursts really well. It scales well on multi target fights and if you pair it with inevitable demise in PvP you can do some really good burst between the rot and a full 50x drain life on as many targets as you rot +1.

This. I wasn’t really sure about having a faerie warlock (aesthetically-speaking), but the dot and the movement are pretty useful for an afflic warlock raider. Podtender comes in pretty handy from time to time, as well.

Thats demo in general honestly. Soul Rot feels nice on Aff, feels like an actual part of its kit, but ANYTHING new with demo just feels, extra. Like it doesn’t flow with the spec.

It’d be nice if we didn’t have to hard cast everything. That would also smooth out some of our specs better.

it would be cool if they reworked decimating bolt to be a moving channeled spell that cast 16 random damage spells over 4 seconds. I hear thats balanced for other classes so lets get the same thing.

I’d swap my Shaman to Elemental for that visual every 2 mins.

Literally double the damage and I will stop complaining as a PURE DPS NOT A HYBRID

Who cares about aesthetics though… soul rot, grove invig and soul shape is enough to love Fae was an affli warlock. Sure I don’t like the transmog, but at least the zone is sick and the abilities + binds are great.
