so there’s a 7-11 maintenance today… and a 6 AM to 2 PM maintenance tomorrow… 6 am to 2 pm? are you freaking kidding me? ive never seen a maintenance schedule like that in my 15 + years of playing wow. i’m assuming it’s because the raid drops but why the maintenance today… so odd

Then you haven’t been paying attention. That was basically par for the course in vanilla and still happened pretty regularly into BC. Maintenance windows were a lot better by wrath, but there was still the odd long maintenance even then.

2 4+ hour maintenances back to back has never been a thing
I remember some days when I first started had 8+ hours of maintenance. (Lulz, back in my day.)
Today I’m at work, so the maintenance doesn’t bother me. But tomorrow I’m off. Looks like it’s time to tackle some household projects while I wait.

Horrible timing to have back to back 4hr maintenance like that. The other MMO I play while WoW is down, is also down for a full 24hrs patch maintenance… which just started this morning.
I don’t believe you’ve ever played at an xpac release. We’ve had times where there’s been daily maintenance for a week.
Could be because the raid opens.
Could be a major bug that needs a fix NOW.
And its nothing unusual at the start of xpac.
Cookies… And they better be the ‘good’ kind or I’ll start throwing koalas

Its ok, there are other things to do in life other than WoW
Maybe they are ready to add the replacement content they had to axe because of how hard BFA failed, and maybe the lack of that replacement content is why SL was delayed and then launched with a curiously large amount of time gates, and with a curiously low about of story and side quest content vs other xpacs.
Im fine with them taking as many down times as needed to bring SL back into a spot it can actually do well in. Right now SL is getting into a very bad place, and more people are losing patients by the day.
In BC I remember a maintenance lasting more than 2 days.
You are not wrong, they were just one solid block that lasted 24+ hours.
