Man. How many times do I have to write this? MANY ORCS CONVERTED TO THE LIGHT WILLINGLY! The last remaining orcs cannot be allowed to remain unblessed because it just takes ONE of them to cave into the burning legion and suddenly you have a massive large scale demon invasion. Many Mag’har are part of the lightbound. Same thing for all the other races.
And again the Mag’har are really showing their true colors after siding with sylvanas after her actual genocides.
OP, you’re basically justifying the Spanish Inquisition.

Ah yes, War History Online, your first source for opinion articles about history that might actually have some history in them. My favorite part of this article was how #1 is basically “they were savages lol.”
Except the light has never been known to destroy LITERALLY EVERYTHING! Maybe the day I see a Lightbound Draenei summoning pools of yellow glowing poison and filling every part of draenor with them while also making sure to burn down every tree and animal… The lightbound are a force of good that will create strong societies. The demons were about destruction.
They sided with Eitrigg after he saved them from being wiped out by a bunch of religious nutters.
I don’t think they would have even had had enough time to even realize Teldrassil was an issue before they joined; they were just grateful and desperate in their current decimated situation. As for whether they found out of afterwards … I’m uncertain a broken people from another world, clinging to the only interdemensional lifeline presented to them, are really going to appreciate the gravity of a giant tree burning.
And, I need to repeat myself here, if a people is judged by the actions of their entire race than there is no race in all of Warcraft with more Blood on their Hands than the Draenei. The festering issues of their people they let spin wildly out of control destroyed entire planets; and led to the destruction of MU Draenor when they dragged a bunch of “primitives” into the intergalactic 25k year old civil war they had brewing.

SHE DIDNT SLAUGHTER ORCS! SHE CONVERTED THEM! LMAO! She only made enemies of the last rebellious orcs. When it comes to corrupt an orc as susceptible as a god danged dragon.
Yrels army of the light has many different races. In the allied race quest you actually kill lightbound ogres.
Yrel is committing Genocide on an entire race who refuse to be brainwashed into becoming lightforged. She is an insane monster as bad as Sylvanas.

Is that Non-catholic african going to go off and be corrupted by demons and create portals for countless demons to invade the world, destroy all of nature and torture everything to death?
So says a Druid and, as we know, Druids have never fallen to the Legion before right? Since the Light was destroying Draenor I’m willing to bet it doesn’t care much about Nature either. Guess how they’d treat you?
You’re right, their true colors are duty and loyalty to their allies and their people. P.S. Some of the Jews converted to the NSDAP before and during WW2. Think about it.
The Burning Legion also had many different races; led by a powerful entity that gave their followers visions of the future and power for complacence. They also had a holy cause that spurned them to “necessary” acts. I guess we were wrong getting in their way.
Turns out, the only thing keeping the Draenei people from going on world ending crusades seems to be Velen. I guess it makes sense. When you have nothing but eternity in paradise to look forward to, it can get real boring. So, you’ll jump on the first bandwagon offering more.

Oh, so anyone that hasn’t been branded by the Light like a slave is a world ending evil portal for demons? Wow. Bonus: The Light was destroying all of Draenor’s nature and murdering everything it didn’t want to convert too. Same crap different color. All hail the Glowing Legion: They won’t kill you if you serve them, promise!

You only believe Yrel is evil because the Mag’har told you they are evil. Imagine someone on azeroth coming to earth and they come out being greeted by the Taliban. “OH these evil nations are trying to destroy us for our faith! Please help us!”
If you think the Lightbound aren’t going to be a hostile force against the the peoples of Azeroth, you got another thing coming. Especially if AU Xe’ra is their “Light Mother”.
See, the thing about radicals and extremists is that moderates are never “pure” enough in their eyes. Even other less fanatical forms of Light Worship are liable to be judged fairly harshly. Just as various sects of the same religions had massively violent conflicts in Humanities long history. The thing about crusades is that they only tend to stop once they’ve been routed; or they burn themselves out … because there is always something else to crusade against. Something else that can benefit from your righteous cause. Azeroth seems a likely target.

The lightbound haven’t destroyed any worlds. That’s what the legion does. I’ll always side with the people who believe in creation, healing and defending the innocent over “YEAH LETS THROW THESE BABIES INTO THE FURNACE FOR FUEL”
They do this to avoid demonic corruption. Being blessed by the light is a wonderful feeling and you don’t automatically turn into a demonic monster who will eat your children.
The only way to prevent corruption is to make everyone in society impossible to corrupt. Lightforged keep hold of their will.
Then you should have another look at Alternate Draenor in the Mag’har scenario. The world is dying. A sickly haze chokes the horizon. The Light doesn’t care for nature, it burns worlds to ash just the same as Fel Fire.
Never have I seen a statement so befitting of the phrase “blinded by the Light.”
You don’t need the light to avoid demonic corruption. The light is not just a tool for good, Yrel’s ideals, and goals aligned closely with that of the legion. They prepared to sail the cosmos, forcibly converting all those they encounter to join them in the light. There is very little difference.
