I know as I type this it’s gonna get shot down, but you can’t decline yourself if you start the group.
I dont trust pugs with my key i only do my own key with a premade.
With pugs id say 70% of keys fail before the first boss due to either players not interrupting, The tank thinking hes immune to dmg, dying & insta leaving probably due to embarrassment, people arguing over the dps meter etc
The attrition rate increases the higher the key so i will not join any pug for anything above a 16+ my blood pressure cannot take it.
They just cannot be trusted.
This is why I have swapped to tank and will probably be a tank main going forward.
Even in crap gear its an insta invite half the time.
Just say dps, all dps feel this way and the reason is there are like 10 of you for every healer in the pug world. And the thing is that healing isn’t particularly fun right now so looking at the amount of groups attempted to form (dps want to run more) the ratio is even worse.
I’ll list a crest farming key on this unremarkable forum gnome and there are like 100 applicants when I get back from the bathroom, mostly dps, a few tanks. It is literally impossible to fit all of you in. If DPS want to play again, fight for your healers to get stronger and easier and more fun to play optimally and be nicer to them.
You have the tools at your own disposal to fix/solve your own issue. Run your own key and vet the players who come into better. You aren’t playing at a level where you need hyper optimizations. Don’t pick up the 3k+ IO players or people claiming to be such…they’re either lying or they’re on a super undergeared alt but are going to act like they are on their MDI team “because it’s such a baby key”.
Stick to people on or around your item level and IO and pick the people who are otherwise “unfavorable” specs too. You’ll likely find they’re grateful for the invite/chance and want to give 110% because I can guarantee they too are getting walls of declines despite being objectively geared and experienced plenty for the content levels at hand.
Read my above response to “ Run your own key “.
Why would i vet pugs when i know they’re all idiots with the game sense of a peanut ???
Why would pug leaders invite your warlock when you are an idiot with the game sense of a peanut?
Because they’re clearly not all idiots with the game sense of a peanut. You’re free to feel and think so, but I don’t think that’s going to end up being a real positive game experience for you.
But hey, beating your head against brick walls may eventually work for you…
You are doing the same tho ?
I don’t see a lot of warlocks or mages applying to my groups so I’ll usually toss them an invite.
Thanks, I have added you to ignore so I never encounter you in game lol
Why can’t you just keep doing your own keys as you push it higher with the same premade?
Why would you pug at all with a premade at your disposal?
Demonology warlock is stupidly strong. If you’re getting declined, it’s a you problem.
Pugs read wowheads tier list, if your spec isn’t A tier + goodluck.
In my experience with low-mid keys, this doesn’t really solve anything. The time it takes for a tank or healer to apply to a group of only dps is often just as long or longer than it takes to get through those 73 denied applications before finally getting an invite. “Start your own group” isn’t some instant solution to every m+ complaint.
It is, however, the instant solution to “every group declines me”.
Sure, but not to having a full group. Which is the actual thing OP is complaining about.
Not every group you apply to is going to be full. Sometimes you need to wait there, as well.
No, but you can choose to only apply to groups that already have either a tank or healer. Which, in my experience as I said, can feel about the same or even faster than waiting for a tank or healer to join your own group as a dps. Once you have one of the two, the other comes quickly.
Point is, being a dps (especially an off-meta dps) means pugging keys will take some time. Starting your own group as a dps does not improve this.
