There is no such thing as good or evil. The concept itself is something mortals created. The light and void do not have this concept. There is only balance, the endless struggle between opposites. The only time there is a serious problem is when that balance is disrupted and the boundaries are stepped over.
The light trying to transform Illidan against his will was over stepping that boundry and retaliation was swift. The burning crusade overstepped several boundries for far to long and retaliation was long overdue but was eventually carried out. In the end like it or not, the universe is always in a perpetual cycle, a swing of the pendulum from one side to the other.
You mean the naaru are like that. Trying to evangelize and push their Chick tracts on everybody so they can sweep their grape-flavored brethren under the rug.
The Light doesn’t have an opinion, it’s like the Force from Star Wars. it’s probably not even a separate thing from the Void, and that’s the secret the Old Gods know and it’s what the naaru are so desperate to deny.
The Void is very similar to Life as it is a Vampiric Force that will consume everything ending with itself. In case you wanted to know: the Void not Death is the source of Decay as shown by WoD Nagrand Questing.
Light is similar to Death in that they want to stop all choice and only one path where everything stops.
Incidentally it was a dying Naaru that gave the Shadowmoon Clan it’s Death-tainted Void Magics so the Naaru’s pact with Death started long before BfA or even Legion!
The Light and Naaru align with Death enough that even Void-corrupted Naaru infect others with Death! AU Cho’gall(who spoke with K’ure) is well acquainted with Death which they call a “He/his”.
According to lore (more exactly what devs said in an interview) the Light gives positive feelings like courage, love, goodness, and so on. While the shadow or the Void gives bad feelings related to doubt, fear, and a like.
The Light is not bad at all, several characters in the lore talks about the goodness of the Light.
You are just confusing what the Light really is with the way that some twisted people used and understund the Light.
The light can be abused just as much as the Void or Fel. The light itself is just a primal power and it is up to those that wield it determine if they will use it for good or not.
Courage/Confidence is Pride(Courage is the literal Etymology of the word Pride AKA High Self Esteem), Zeal and Faith are also Pride, Love is Lust, Pacifism is Negligence and Benevolence can result in Extremist thoughts.
Doubt and Fear are Caution, Despair is Wisdom and Hatred can take the form of Humility just as it can result in the lack of it. Anger and Violence can be directed against injustice.
The Void has virtues just as the Light does. The Light has Vices just as the Void does. The one Vice they both have is Pride.
the game has shown us many examples of what happens when one takes over.
In the Mag’har race play through the Lightforge were basically on par with Christians venturing to the new world forcing their religion on people. You either worshiped the light or die, it also said in many universe Garrosh was a noble and honorable warrior, and they never understood what went wrong in our world with him.
We did get a glimpse of what happens when the light enforces its judgement on us with illidan.
With death uncontrolled you have Arthas, although i’m curious with his arc. The LK isn’t the one above all of death as he was created and is a fusion or ner’zul and arthas. We also have bon-sammy’d
Legion invasion should us with chaos magic it leaves worlds in ruins.
During cata we’ve seen what happens if the void conquers all.
