Who between rogue and warrior would be the least painful in TBC to pursue then use the glaives of azzinoth? As I read it only these classes can use them.
I’ve read back and forth on both classes. But those are usually “how are this class in tbc” in threads. and those do not give good vibes. but that is some posting spamming fotm. I am not caring if ret paladin parses better. Ret can’t use the glaives so its dead to me lol.
So this is a warrior vs rogue ask. It will be one of these 2. Don’t need FOTM. Not caring if I am not top 5 or bottom 5 of a guild. I really just want to rock the glaives at the end.
I’ve played both in retail but no clue how they fair in classic/tbc.

Rogue. Any guild worth their salt is giving the rogue glaive priority. It’s a long, rough road though.
Good. Because you will be.

GDKP for infinity gold, or be top officer or guild leader of said guild
You really expect to get glaive considering the drop rate is less than 1% and that means you gotta run it 99+ times just for it to drop once.
And that is considering you will be chosen to be given it if you roll for it. You might get one, but realistically getting the other is not gonna happen

I think it’s much more than 1% but it is low
It’s between 4 and 5%. Not great, but way higher than “less than 1%”

Somewhere under my jaded, pessimistic exterior there is an optimist buried deep inside lol.
I let them have happy plans once in a while lol. I know these are fun. In retail on non time warp basic BT farm wipes it was hunters who got this dropped. and not the bow.
And it was demon hunters who got the bow…and not the glaives. RNG loves to play with me lol
Well glaives are bis for the expac for rogue whereas warriors can get replacements out of sunwell. So any guild that doesn’t have a greedy fury warrior guild leader should be giving it the rogue.
However you could clear BT every week and not see the MH or OH so its rng. Plus even in t6 limited spots for rogues and melee in general albeit much better than earlier phases. Technically the easiest would just be amassing crazy amount of gold and buying it in gkdp or being the rogue in your guild who has priority on them.
Many guilds already know who’s getting glaives. If they don’t then there is no telling what could happen. Good luck. Although do understand you’ll have competition from fury warriors in pugs of any kind.
This is like a game of telephone…you heard something kinda like this but on your retelling you are changing it completely.
Warriors do not replace Glaives but the SWP weapon options (the fist weapons) are a much less of a damage drop compared to Glaives for Warriors than for Rogues because Combat still has Sword Specialization and Fury does not.
Here’s how you do it, just make sure you join a guild where you are the only rogue on the raid team.

I mean you pretty much just repeated what I said… I didn’t say glaives suck for warriors I said they can get replacements. Given the sword spec and the haste effect for rogue its clearly better for one than the other.
Edit: And if we really want to get nitpicky about it then we’d delve into the fact that fury is more threat capped then rogue but I don’t see the need to delve that deep when it can be summed up rogue>warrior for glaives.
This is patently false, Drop rate is closer to 8% and has the potential to drop both in a single kill.
sweaty raid guilds will take 1 rogue and zero fury warriors. Odds are quite good IF you get the one rogue spot.
Be rogue. Be guild leader. Be streamer.
Otherwise, save an absolutely absurd amount of gold from TBC day 1 until the first BT GDKP on your server, and run GDKP BT every lockout and beat anyone who bids.
Alternatively, start your own BT GDKP and hard reserve them for a certain amount. The amount will have to be large enough to incentivize people joining your GDKP with Glaives on hard reserve.

Give it to the player and not the class, that’s the best way to give them out.
