Traversing layers to gather resources from all layers would be an exploit.
On the second stress test I didn’t get a layer change by simply relogging… Or at least it didn’t appear I did. Saw chest looted it and though why not. Relogged a few times and got the same layer everytime.
So I think people who are planning on cheesing things with this will be disappointed when its not so quick and easy.

Blizzard currently is expecting numbers close to 5 mill on launch day.
In comparison originally launch was only 200000

Rare NPC’s and mobs are a crapshoot in vanilla and not for sure lucrative. Black Lotus on the other hand…

I know of one tailoring pattern that many want.
Why would Blizzard do that to players? That was on Beta. The game hasn’t launched yet. I don’t watch any Beta streaming to know if it’s still an issue.
I just wonder how easy its going to be. I don’t think it will be as quick as some/most seem to think. The best farming methods will probably remain things inside instances even with layering.
That really annoys me. How can I understand how a person formed their opinion without hearing what information they used to form it? You’d think it would be easy for someone to remember.

Especially with a number like 5 million. I don’t doubt classic launch blows vanilla launch out of the water as far as launch day. I do doubt that it eclipses vanilla concurrent subscriber peak.
Tell me that hunters won’t try layer hopping to tame pets.

I see you haven’t been part of any testing. It was pretty common for layer swaps in the first stress test. Second one not so much.
Also I already said that I tried relogging multiple times to switch layers and didn’t get a different one once. With how it has been on the stress tests it is hard enough to switch layers let alone doing it at will like you’re anticipating.
Want to avoid pvp …relog and layer hop.

That is not even remotely what i said.
I said that if you farmed resource from a node in one layer. They will just make it so you cant gather from that node location until the timer of its respawn is up. So people cant jump between layers and farm 4 instances of black lotus from the same location within 20 seconds of each other.
Although you did usr the word shard which is an indication that you have no clue of what you are talking about.
Do you know for sure that there were layers in the stress test ?
I would like to see Blizzard input on this topic.
