There is no other solution and I’m hoping whatever they do is transparent to the player.
There was a post made by some dwarf here a while back that had a really good idea for a solution. But I agree, I’d appreciate being kept in the loop about what is being done about this rather than having it just sprung on us.
Its not a maybe. The blizzard devs working on classic have stated that it will not function phase 2. They dont want multiple world boss on timers.
If people still don’t understand this…than something is wrong.
Also please don’t use the dead meme of its not the old blizzard. The devs currently assigned to classic are literally the same group that wrote the code for vanilla.
They are the old blizzard.
I didn’t mean to imply the number of players on each individual server would increase I meant the total number of new players. At a point Blizzard decides new players won’t be allowed to join a server.
Hasn’t this been talked about for months? It sure feels like it.
There should be no surprise. It’s a done deal.
When it ends though is anyone’s guess.
Ends by phase 2 is all we were given.
What more loop is there to be in. Layering is coming. They haven’t wavered. At this point people should hope that all the current kinks and bugs in it are ironed out by the time classic releases.
If Layering goes through to Classic Launch as it is for 2+ months I will personally get filthy rich. I will have an epic mount and every boe epic I could ever dream about.
So will other coherent players. That is the problem. It ruins the game. If you don’t understand why or how this is possible, it doesn’t mean I am wrong, it means you aren’t knowledgeable enough to know how or why.
Pretty sure layers are capped at 3000 at which are vanilla numbers. Servers after layering us removed will be 3000.
So if a server with 3 layers and has a population of 8000 at the time of layering is turned off.
They will open a minimum of 2 extra servers to accommodate those people and offer anyone on that server a free xfer.
Blizzard knows about those exploits and I doubt they would allow it when the game goes live. It wouldn’t make sense to allow it.
server hopping back in wod was not an exploit.
layer hopping in classic isn’t an exploit either.
They even said that relogging could put you in a different layer.
Its beta. People forget its a new technology they are testing. They are aware of these issues. They know it can be exploited and are most likely working on a way that allows players to still group with others without the unintended side affects that come with it.
God I hope I’m that lucky when the classic releases.
Especially in Un’Goro with all those mithril nodes
I don’t think they want people to use it to cheese resources. They will probably patch something in that doesn’t allow a player to gather from the same spawn location within a given amount of time. So even if you layer hop you cant gsther again from that location. So its not worth doing.
Unless I had actual number from developers I wasn’t going to guess.
I don’t think Blizzard will have server populations that exceed that of Vanilla servers. Having an entire server worth of players on each layer would defeat the purpose of having layering in the first place.
The exploit is the system ROFL. There is no way around it man. That is why nobody has proposed a solution that everyone was like — “Oh, well that makes sense”. The system itself is the exploit.
Army of alts parked at a node. Just log into each one and see if it’s there.
Purple Lotus spawn points come to mind,
So now not only do you have to watch people and resources vanish before your eyes…there will be a chance that you will be sharded over into an area where you can’t even farm resources? HAHAHA
Shocknyou gets it.
