Yeah the launch went super great. Requiring you to use a remote desktop hours ahead of time just to be able to play a game you pay a monthly subscription for.
The farthest thing from “great” is what the launch was. It was once again a landmark failure to add to this company’s repotoir.
Only got DC’d twice and I think the longest we had anyone wait was about 45 minutes at peak. Lots of layers, but stuttering, boats had to be turned off for a bit, but considering the load it went fairly well in my book.
The only thing that was disappointing for me is a full boat of Alliance loaded up and was sent off to Northrend only to get stranded 1,000 yards off the coast of Stormwind.
A mage was kind enough to portal us back so we could talk to the NPC for insta-port…not an epic start to the epic journey to save the world.
I had a good time, save for a game-breaking bug right at the tail end of the battle for the undercity (but that was fixable with a few death grips so it was more funny than anything else)
The real question is how the following days are going to go, as people finish the questlines they really want to do and start reaching max level, move on to alts etc., how are dungeons going to go…especially pre-Wrath dungeons
Weird I had no queue at all here since I play on a supposedly “Dead server” even though there was hundreds of players on boats so much the boats broken and didn’t work anymore but it wasn’t an issue since a NPC could TP us to WOTLK zones and the starting zone were absolutely flooded for hours.
Zero lag, zero bugs (Beside the boats) and no issues in general, it DID went great especially for a Blizzard game launch 100%.
Pretty much. That was about what Pagle was as well. I was already on, but my GM logged in right about launch time and when he got on he said it had been 40 minutes.
And the “Megaserver” crowd are just as delusional.
I had no issues on Windseeker, high pop but not full, lots of spam in the starting areas but I easily formed groups for quest credits, it really did go great for me, best launch experience I’ve had in a long time.
