The last new class was in 2016

Incorrect.

There’s two major ways the Tinker class could go; Mech-based, or Hybrid based. Mech based would be a character piloting a mech suit armed with an array of weaponry. This version would be largely based on the Tinker ultimate from WC3. Essentially you have a class that is physical ranged, yet is piloting a vehicle, sort of like Dva from Overwatch. In terms of size, you would have a Goblin/Gnome/Vulpera character go from its normal size, to the size of a fully armored Tauren or Male Draenei in full plate armor (if not slightly larger) inside mech form.

The other option is the hybrid, where the character uses the robotic backpack from WC3 and HotS. This version has the mech form as optional and only for the tank spec. The DPS and Healing specs use the robotic backpack with the robotic arms the entire time, with mech form being a cool down. The Healing spec in both cases would be based on the Alchemist hero.

Here’s a breakdown of the abilities:

Pocket Factory (WC3): The Tinker deploys a miniature factory that produces robotic soldiers over time.

Cluster Rockets (WC3): Launches a volley of rockets at a target area, dealing damage and stunning the target.

Engineering Upgrade (WC3): Improves your abilities and base stats.

Robo Goblin (WC3): The character boards a mech and pilots it into battle.

X-Plodium Charge (HotS/WoW): Launches a charge to a targeted area. After a few seconds the charge will explode, stunning any enemies in its radius.

Deth Lazor (HotS/WoW): Fires a beam of energy in a straight line, damaging all targets in its path.

Rock-it Turret (HotS/WoW): Deploys a turret that fires at nearby enemies.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle (HotS): Your devices leave scrap. Retrieving scrap reduces the cooldown and cost of your abilities.

Grav-O-Bomb 3000 (HotS/WoW): Launches a gravity bomb that sucks all targets to it’s center and explodes, dealing damage.

Robo Goblin Shield (HotS): Reduces damage and increases movement speed by 30%.

Also you can add the Goblin Alchemist hero since it’s also a Goblin and tech-based, and forms the basis of the healing spec;

Healing Spray (WC3): Sprays targets in an area around the caster, healing them.

Acid Bomb (WC3): Throws a bomb at a target area, reducing the armor of all enemies in its radius.

Chemical Rage (WC3): Increases the Movement and Attack speed of a target.

Transmute (WC3): Turns a target into gold, instantly killing it.

Putting all of this together, you could have a DPS spec where a Goblin is inside a mech shooting lasers and dropping Iron Star rolling bombs, or you could have a Gnome with the robotic backpack healing allies with Healing Spray, and dropping a Pocket factory that deploys heal bots to shield his allies.

Again, completely unique and different than anything else we currently have in WoW. Definitely nothing like the Hunter class.

Seems okay to me but I’d prefer zero new goblin content ever.

Maybe /s, lol. Gnomes too.

I’d rather have the Necromancer if they could find a way to implement it without screwing up DK and WL.

Or Dark Ranger.

No. There is no evidence that not adding new classes helps them create better design for existing classes. WoTLK, MoP, and Legion were all successful expansions which featured new classes, so if anything the evidence indicates new classes help the game.

While I understand your preferences, that isn’t a good argument against the concept. Gnomes and Goblins are long overdue for content, and frankly everything can’t be about Elves and Humans.

The ole more is less trick…

Now, to be fair, with the amount of customization that goes into WoW Classes things like Reapers and Sages are more like new specializations than new classes. WoW has things like PvP talents, regular talents, and specializations they have to make.

Honestly? I’m pretty okay with Blizzard adding new specs to the game. But I think for it to work, they’d have to really dial back on talents as a source of power, save them for utility exclusively, and make all the core gameplay stuff baseline for all the specs. Again, stuff I support.

You say that as if this isn’t a HUGELY broad description.

And it’s more of a comment about poor class design than it is about specs effectively being their own classes.

I’d just as soon they not give us a new class until they have a new dev team. One with at least a little talent.

Semper Fi! :us:

They are slow, like slower than the turtles going to that damn water in bfa. And I think they are opting for an easier route.

Personally, if it aint giving me an exciting new combat feel-system-whatever then I couldn’t care less for a new class. They have been awful with the ideas they’ve had in SL, I feel I’d love a change up in talents and combat in 10.0 and focus on delivering a better open world feel.

About time this game stop feeling like it’s going through the motions.

I feel like a new class would be awesome to be honest. Any class. Although i would like a ranger or tinker. Idk, goblins are awesome with their tech stuff. I remember being pretty excited for cataclysm for goblins.

I feel it would be cool to add the classic wow 1-60 overworld back into the retail game for chromie time leveling. It would be the first thing i would try out on the new class to be honest.

I honestly feel like having a new primary or secondary proffession added to the game would also be cool. I feel like blizzard could get pretty creative. I have no idea what the proffession would or could be. But Suggestions would be nice. I just feel like a new proffession would be cool to have something else to do as well. I liked archeology. Pretty boring, but fun at the same time, and some cool rewards,

I feel like new battlegrounds would also be a cool feature. I mean, blizzard has a bunch already, but it would be new content for pvp.

and the class was only 2 races which was a bad decision imo in a game with so many races.

They’re never gonna balance the classes obviously so lets at least have some fun with a broken and exciting new class every now and then lol.

and you need to give one of the two specs back to warlock

I hope Disc gets reworked again into a purely ranged damage spec.

Only thing disc needs is lights wrath being brought back.

With that logic we should bring back corruption.

We should that was an awesome season

I would like it come back, blizz just needs to know some math and not let certain specs that scaled best with stat amps have the run of the show again.

People do care about balance in FF14, but the only balance that matters is single target. FF balance wise was similar to WoW in the Heavensward era but with the amount of headaches the devs seem to have gone the MoP design where everyone has everything (functionally).

We can’t have new classes because they already can’t handle the available classes and specs.

Realistically we should have the right to demand better for a game we pay for every month, but they just won’t magically allocate higher budget on classes if they’re not doing it right now.

Yes it’s sad, but it is what it is.
Let them lose some more millions, maybe they’ll have a change of heart then.
