i love your transmog
Really thought they would give us this because there is a toy for it, I support goblins having more customizations like this. Also give us fat goblin options, I want to look like gallywix.
Still ridiculous that the Kelfin haven’t joined the Horde as a playable race.
Get it together blizzard!
This is my kelfin shaman. (Or as close as I can get for now! ) I keep checking the alpha database to see if Neri and the gang will be appearing in Dragonflight, but I haven’t seen anything yet.
Do you guys think the Unshackled have joined the Horde lorewise ? It’s a bit vague. They clearly expressed interest in the Horde during the Nazjatar questline, showed on the shores of Durotar afterwards, and they were even available as a Horde unit for the War Campain missions (“Unshackled Mercenaries”).
And they also mentioned something about leaving Nazjatar and “going home” ; what do you think “home” refers to ? Maybe Vash’jir ?
I do believe they are lorewise officially a part of the horde.
As well, I think they might be originally from Vash’jir and possibly run out by the vastly more aggressive Gilgoblins.
I feel Kelfins and Gils are though similar, are different from each other, like Night elves and Nightborne.
Wouldn’t it be amazing to have a Horde foothold in Vash’jir, seriously ??
I also hope the clear difference in behaviour between the Kelfins and the other Gilgoblins gets addressed one day. And please don’t make it yet another “Kelfins were exposed to some Titan artifact that made them smart and nice”
Most creatures had interactions with titans that made them inteligent. That is what is called uplifting in scifi.
I do hope with the time skip they would be just part of the horde when they come back.
Same with Ankoan part of the alliance. Would be nice to see some underwater buildings on the horde beach with tortollan visitors. I can see the Jinyu and Ankoan having some settlements in the Stormwind side a bit clear off the docks.
The Jinyu could use some of that water carving to make an underwater cave and grotto too.
It would be nice to see some Hozen and Taunka npcs throughout org too. Ogres as well. Even that one centaur that joined the horde in a comic.
I think with the Kelfins / Gilgoblins it is more with in the Unshackled’s dialog from the random NPS.
One comments and laughs about how a goblin claims to have created them.
I feel this is their background. I forget the goblin’s name, but iirc is very old. And I mean unnaturally old for a mortal race, more so as a goblin.
If this is true, it would fit well within eachother. Goblins are known to experiment on their own (Hobgoblins). Kelfin / Gilgoblins could be the results of said experiments long ago.
Giving the benefit of doubt I will say Kelfins were the first and a success. While Gilgoblins were the results of trying to recreate and resulted in more hostile and greedy motives that like their original breed like rabbits.
Which would support the Kelfins being pushed away from their home. Being vastly outnumbered by the Gilgoblins.
Edit:
To their more passive nature, I believe this is through the general generations of being community. Similar to the Brooklyn Irish Boroughs. Close knit community, but ready and willing to fight for eachother to even a bitter end.
Just a hunch is all.
I hypothesize/think that they may be titan creations. Maybe there is an underwater titan facility. Although I think a journal said goblins descend from pygmies. But I think if they did a retcon they can make them like have an atlantis sort of feel to it. And kezan being more like the cave/land form of goblin. As of now the lore for them is a bit murky, so it would be cool if they retconned it to be a bit better and have a cooler origin.
I know but I’m tired of this. I wish they stopped always making the Titans the source and the ones to thank for everything.
Have you guys noticed how the Alliance-aligned NPC races just get… especially forgotten about ? Like, the Unshackled did show up in Durotar afterwards, hinting at further involvement in Horde narratives. The Ankoan though were not seen again, afaik. This is particularly obvious with the Jinyu/Hozen : we know that the Hozen did actually join the faction as full-fledged members, since they were seen among Horde Vanguards in Dazar’alor ; the Pearlfin Jinyu though ? We haven’t seen any since MoP. That’s a shame tbh.
Hobart Grapplehammer is a bit crazy though. I think the Nazjatar dialogue you’re referring to was intended to retcon their origins as one of his failed experiments. Still possible though ofc.
My personal theory is that Trolls and Goblins have Elemental origins, which would explain why Trolls are so quick to evolve into subraces that are more fit to their environment (Jungle/Dark/Sand/Blood/Forest Trolls), and why the Gilgoblins exist at all. Maybe they used to be Goblins living on an island near Kezan that was eventually flooded and they adapted to life underwater ?
I doubt that since the Titans never mentioned them, but did mention their biggest failure (the Troggs).
On that note, if the Kelfin eventually join as a playable race, I hope the whole of the Unshackled joins as well, lorewise (not playable ofc). I want Horde Makrura/Sea Giants/Murlocs !!!
Not for now.
I’m pretty sure they are here to be a part of the Horde or at least to see the functioning of the Horde after the story in Nazjatar. I can’t see another reason of their presence in Durotar and I don’t think they are here as tourists.
Yes, it would be nice to have some Taunka and Ogres npcs in Ogrimmar but some Mok’nathal, Forest troll and Dragonmaw orc npcs too
Ehh most wow races are made or descend from gods and the first ones. If a race was descended from goblin experimentation that would be low from a universal point of view. Gods are going to be gods ya know.

Alliance generally is mostly human focused which is probably why you don’t see many Jinyu/Ankoan. The blizzard writing team probably don’t know how to incorporate them organically like gilgoblins for whatever reason.
The Discord link doesn’t work for me
Kelfin are such a great race, the first time I saw them I wanted to play one so bad, I’d immediately make one if they are ever added

That mog is cute and fabulous
My friend Gnomest likes your mog too, this is the one he used for his Kelfin
