The kelfin love/allied race discussion thread ✿

Jinyu would be alliance so I don’t see why they couldn’t be paired with them in some fashion.

I would imagine they’d likely be paired with Kelfin.

Also as Gnomest says just above me, since the Jinyu/Ankoan are Alliance they wouldn’t really be a hinderance to the Kelfin being added…

Jinyu/Ankoan for the Alliance! :fish:

Kelfin for the Horde! :japanese_goblin::trident:

Sounds like an awesome combination to me! Everyone gets an aquatic race! :ocean:

How many times have people come into this thread saying jinyu or ogres should come first? I’ve noticed a trend after a bit.

A few.

You get em once in awhile in all AR threads.

It’s a sign that you’re doing well. :stuck_out_tongue:

In about a month I should be able to get trust level 3 back so I can finally update this thread. Darn. 6 month wait is sure pretty harsh for a minor violation.

Gnomest sent this along.

First one is standard hair we have now in WoW (or well designed the same way)
The second is with hair particles.

Just neat to see what wow could look like if Blizzard went that route one day.

Very nice. Still love the hairstyles you’ve made for Kelfin Gnomest.

I don’t expect particle based hair in the game because hair like this really chews up performance. It is still nice to see no less though.

Aye.

I wouldn’t expect it but it’s neat to see.

Kinda like seeing the redone cities using the unreal engine.

So I got the Unshackled flying mount and went ahead and took some screenshots to show what it could be like to have Kelfin players flying around on aquatic mounts.

Took a quick one in Oribos. No, the mount isn’t flying there. It’s more hovering slightly above the ground, similar to how other mounts that don’t walk on the ground hover.

Flying around in Orgrimmar with Grommash Hold in the background.

The CRZ instance I was in didn’t have a lot of mounted players, so I quickly took one with a player on a flying mount to compare them.

And of course, I had to take a water themed screenshot. Flying above a lake with a few waterfalls behind…seems like a good place for Kelfin to relax! I’m sure they’d be fine in both fresh and salt water.

That is all I took for now. I’m working towards getting a snapdragon mount to take a few more screenshots, though I still have a few ways to go. I’ll continue to think of more screenshots to take in the near future! :japanese_goblin::trident:

Love those mounts.

While I think their racial mount would be a snapdragon any self respecting Kelfin would no doubt endeavor for a ray to fly on.

I would guess their racial mount would be an unarmored snapdragon. I believe the only ones currently obtainable are ones with armor of some sort, so I’ll have to take what I can get when I get to do screenshots with one.

I do think a number of Kelfin players would likely use flying aquatic mounts for their characters. Especially if we happen to get a few new ones to go with a playable Kelfin announcement. I know I likely would! I can imagine RP communities making Kelfin groups utilizing these mounts also, which sounds like a lot of potential fun.

Also, it seems fitting to me to see Kelfin riding around on such mounts out of the water. There are weirder things to see in different areas, IMO, and this seems to be fairly normal. Besides, it adds character to their personality and culture. :japanese_goblin::trident:

I normally use the Ankoan Waveray since I think the color scheme works nicely, but that one looks nice too. Doesn’t seem out of place either. Good screenshots.

I didn’t know that Horde could also use that mount. Looks like I have something to get there on my Alliance main for potential future screenshots! :japanese_goblin::trident:

Wowpedia has a page that shows off the Snapdragon mounts currently in the game:

I read the one that requires you to get a bodyguard in Nazjatar will unlock the mount on the other faction as well, which I assume you can only ride on the one specific to your faction.

I still think that a snap dragon without any of the armor on, aside from a harness to ride on, would work well for a starting Kelfin racial mount. Would also give some prestige still to the ones you can currently get in-game with the armor on also. :japanese_goblin::trident:

Aye, though they could also do something like the Vulpera mount. It’s just got unique armor. (and a canopy… And the ability to remove it if you are a vulpera…)

I gotta say, I support Kelfin as an AR but… most of the examples given by OP creep me out. They’re way too visually busy with no coherent design philosophy behind the idea. It’s half a dozen undersea creatures mashed together on a goblin.
I’d prefer if it was dialed down a bit.

Most of Gnomest use of their Tidal Guardian concept really just goes to show aspects that could be used to enhance a Kelfin AR.

Things like fin options and seaweed hair or bioluminescence.

If you’re refering to the druid forms we’ve many other options suggested within the thread.

It’s unlikely that Gilgoblins would be mermaids. The likelihood of them having far more abundance in thier customization though is worth a look.

They keep giving us allied races we didn’t ask for when races like Jinyu, Ogres, Kelfin, have been requested for years. Some for DECADES.

Worse they made other long requested races like the Wildhammer minor customization.
