The Item Restoration system is borked

I went to the item restoration page on Bilzzard’s site.
I picked my realm/character/item.
It told me I would get it in the mail.
INSTEAD, it auto-submitted a ticket to support for me.
Support told me to use the Item Restoration link.
You see my problem.
I’m at the beginning of an infinite loop with no way to talk to a human and no way to get my item back.
I submitted a different ticket under a different category because I CANNOT submit a ticket over item restoration because it sends me to the item restoration page.
I also could not respond to the original ticket because that option was not given.
Please help.
EDIT: Additional info; the system has me logged as having gone through the process so even if I wanted to try to use Item Restoration again, I can’t until 5/25 for this character.
