The issue with the DK Death Gate

First, let me be clear, this is in no way a request to change Wrath, this is just a hypothetic discussion on something I was wondering about or wish was different.

Am I the only one that thinks that the DK Death Gate should be a round trip portal? Kind of like the Monk skill in retail (yes I know I am comparing a retail feature here, relax).

Again, do not throw hate around or turn this nasty, it is more of a “What if” dream and I am curious what others thought when they first realized it was only a one way trip portal.

We have those gates because of lazy writing.

I need Dk’s to get from one point to another in an instant, I KNOW!

MAGIC DOORS

Now the Dk would be everywhere with little effort.

And that was the first pebble in the big, ugly castle that is RDF.

I have no proof, but I have no doubts either.

Now I kind of wish I never even started this thread. We can’t even ask questions about random stuff without someone turning into another propaganda thread.

Sad really, I was genuinely curious what people though. Oh well, everyone has my apologies for what this thread is about to become. Or you are free to ignore it and move on.

Thank you!!!

You mean, like a mage?

I think it is made round trip later, same as druid Moonglade.

Somewhat, but to only one place and only for the DK.

The mages were broken since the beginning.
Aegwynn solo Sargeras.

The death gate is deliberately shaped like that to clearly distinguish it as a portal that not everyone use so that its not confused with a mage portal or a permanent portal

Unfortunately we’re stuck with this crappy version of Death Gate. They don’t add the two way functionality until MoP. DKs are forever doomed to burn their hearthstone every time they need to train or put a rune on a weapon.

With the comparison to Mists of Pandaria, becoming a Pandaren, one could directly choose Alliance or Horde

With the entirety of the Death Knight campaign, there’s nothing that was ever said about why one was joining either faction, just because one was playing it; the starting zone felt like a Normal not-PvP realm

WoW: Shadowlands had that hero class potential to side with the Jailer

The thing with Remasters, Remakes, Classics, are an opportunity to add new content, i.e. with Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening vs. the DX version adding in an extra dungeon

Between vanilla, TBC, and LK classic, there’s potential for new wings or inverted ICC, but with remasters like Starcraft 1, there’s still a 2 minute your lagging window that one couldn’t work around

LK Classic has an option to skip Culling of Stratholme cutscene between Arathas and his master, but not in Retail

Warlords of Draenor, Legion, BFA, and Shadowlands, all still make you do the entire zone of outdoor quests before getting access to the dungeon ones, instead of placing them at the entrance, including their respective expansion pack introduction that can’t be skipped

It’s kind of like the publicity of allegedly wanting to clean up World of Warcraft, by removing the B**** word from Grom, and the spit emote, like it’s been there since launch in retail, big deal, but one can casually burp, spit, and fart relentlessly on anyone and everyone in Classic

Quality of Life improvements with LK Classic like Poor Old Blanchy’s 4 slot bag being turned into an 8 slot, and a lot of the outdoor elites for quests being non elites, are huge when your leveling

There are other improvements that could be made

It works this way in Retail. While having it in WotLK would be nice, I don’t see it as being a big deal. I only have to go there once every 2 levels to train or if I get a new weapon. Hearthstone only has a 30 minute CD, so I’m never stuck there.

The horror!! How can they play this poor abused class?!

It is in Retail.

in retail, monks, dks, and druids go home spells also return them.
