The ability is not worth it 99% of the time. Just heal it. Outside of the hunter pet running into mechanics or a tough pull there should be no excuse not to heal it.
Most hunters I think understand their pet dying on a rough pull or when their pet is tanking mechanics.
Healers should be also be understanding that when their is nothing else to heal… HEAL THE PET!

Pet needs better scaling with stats, because they get deleted with phase 2 pvp gear

They really don’t if the hunter is exercising proper control over his pet. If your pet is dying all the time, it’s not the healers that are the problem.

I have not said anything about what you responded with rofl.
They can be called back, i have amazing pet control, but they will still take damage.
The pet AI isnt all that great, i have to SPAM for him to follow me to bring him back at times, so he might take a few ticks of damage.
Mend pet isnt some OP heal, its a trash tier hot.
Do your job and heal the pet so i can keep doing damage.

Do your job and have your pet avoid damage and do your job and heal your pet with an efficient (albeit slow) hot.

I do all those things, it still will take damage, this isnt retail where pets take 0 damage.
I move him out of stuff when its on the boss, thats not my issue, my issue is when my pets back and damage is going out and i have mend pet already on him and he dies.

A healer’s “job” isn’t to keep your pet alive so you can parse a little better. It’s the very last thing that should be healed and it shouldn’t need heals 99% of the time. Sorry, bud. If your pet is dying all the time, the problem isn’t the healers.

You keep putting words in my mouth, when have i said my pet “dies all the time”???
My job is to kill the boss faster so the fight is over, maybe you prefer 10 minute Mag kills, and you might, but most guilds dont.
Once again, my controlling my pet isnt the topic here as i already do that, i can move him out of stuff like cave in damage until its over, but pets even if moved out will always go to that same spot on the boss, so i sit him by me until its over.
My issue is when doing all of that and bringing him back and healing him damage will still go out on the raid, then its your job to heal him.

I move my mouse a quarter of an inch and press the heal button. The pet is now being healed. I then return to doing nothing because everyone is healthy.
Why not just heal the pet?
It’s possible that people aren’t healing the pet because… they’re bad healers!

You can’t 100% keep your pet alive at all times.
Why is that hard to understand?
Mend pet is BAD, it’s 475/tick not really game breaking heal here.
If you’re a healer your job is to keep the group or raid alive, my pet is a part of that group or raid.
If my pet is standing in fire we aren’t having this debate that’s my fault, my whole point is even if managed pets can still die because my heal is bad.
You can sit here and make all the excuses you want, if my pet is being managed and Mended and he dies that is the HEALERS fault.
If my pet isn’t being managed or mended and dies that is the HUNTERS fault.
You guys are prolly very low skill players and that’s fine, so I’m betting in your daily gameplay you see a pet die you prolly don’t understand the “how” he died you just shrug it off and go “bad hunter”. When in reality it’s you.
This was my whole point.
You will have people like them see a pet die and just shrug it off as a bad hunter.
Damage happens in raids and dungeons, I can manage my pet but he may still die because my pet heal is weak.
A pet you control and can heal dies and … it’s somebody’s else fault. Or not. Maybe it’s your fault.

Yes if I’m not managing him and he dies it’s my fault 100%.
If hes being managed and Mended and dies that’s on the healers.
You see how I can take blame if I’m not doing my part?
You should try it.
Or maybe, just maybe it’s nobody’s fault–your pet is a low priority target and is going to be healed last. It is going to die once in awhile. That’s OK.
