The Horde will get the better of the Allied Races

Nary a day goes by without an Alliance victimhood post. Keep 'em coming.

This is purely my subjective view

Highmountain vs Lightforged
The winner is… neither. Both lame

Void elf vs nightborne
The winner is… void elf. Obviously.

Maghar vs dark iron
The winner is… dark iron

Kul tiran vs zandalari
The winner is… kul tiran

Vulpera vs mecha gnome
The winner is… vulpera.

So that’s 3 points to the alliance
1 point to the horde

The alliance has the better allied races.

what scale are you judging this on exactly? Cause the way I see it Zandalari and Mag’har were loooooooooooooooooooooong requested races, the nightborne were requested the moment we met them, the vulpera were requested the moment we saw that pirate one in the trailer, and the highmountain . . . well ya got me there. Plus the void elves, lightforged, and arguably the kul tirans were basically compromises given to us instead of high elves, broken draenei, and arguably vrykul . . . fel the void elf vs high elf thing is rather infamous at this point considering the latter has a storied history and blizzard themselves were on record as saying they were THE most requested race, and instead we got elves that DID NOT EXIST BEFORE THE FINAL PATCH OF LEGION, and while their leader was a high elf the ones WE got to play were blood elves prior to that botched ritual trap that was supposed to turn them into void ethereals.

so I’d say the scale would be four points to the horde because of the Mag’har (almost as requested as the high elves), zandalari, nightborne, and vulpera while the alliance gets like . . . a half point (dark irons are the only ones that were NOT in any way a compromise and yet a lot of folks would have prefered Wildhammer dwarves)

I’m going by the scale of what I like
I dont care about anything else

Do I like this race? Yes or no
Would I play this race? Yes or no

well I mean if your basing it off personal preference then that makes sense, but the general opinion I have seen does not line up . . . that and the history behind it and the history of race requests in this game.

Just look at the available data. This is all you need to know to make factual statements.

But… that’s how it’s supposed to be?

Not really

First I have no idea where that site gets its numbers from. The way this stuff used to be worked out stopped working. Then people started using add ons to track who they came across.
Where does this website get its data from and how do we know its reliable?

If the horde really does have double the population of the alliance, and its not to do with people prefering horde races but instead factors like raid groups, then comparing the percentages of players as a whole isn’t a good way to do it.
It really should be percentage of alliance playing the races vs percentage of the horde.

The game is dying. Sustaining competitive communities in both factions is increasingly difficult with a limited player pool. That’s why high-end players tend to congregate on one faction. It has nothing to do with ARs.

Anyway, Allied races largely felt like a cash grab because all but 3 of them could have been additional customization options for existing races.

Well its no question the alliance got the short end of the stick when it came to ARs.

Offbrand blood elves (which can look exactly like blood elves now)

Diaper gnomes (Remember the mechagnomes in wrath? neither does blizz)

Shrek’tirans (literally made a human faction a race)

Glow in the draenei (Heres a gold tattoo, you are now new! oh homeland security has you on a list.)

only real debby downer on the horde is canadian tauren, least they get cool body paint.

Where are you getting the idea that we would possibly get any ARs at all for Dragonflight? Is there another new interview I’ve missed?

I mean the races we already have aren’t getting new customizations because they are putting all their focus on the Dracthyr.

Dragonflight leak, which predicted everything to 100%, included a AR with the pre-orders.

Ok, anyone got a link to the leak, or directions on how to find it?

Edit: Found it

It says allied Race, not races. So Race singular, most likely being neutral. So Horde’s can’t be better, since they will get the same race as alliance.

Those values are not accurate. No site operating now has accurate race or.populatiom data.

From active players. I have been reading about the process one hour ago and I already have forgotten most of it - but it’s basically as you described it. While these numbers aren’t reliable, they are still close to the truth.

This is weird. I am having a hard time believing that HM Tauren are more popular than Lightforged Draenei only for the females. And I love Tauren, I feel they are the best the Horde has.

Zandalari above Void Elves is also iffy.

Not surprised in the slightest about Kultiran and Mechagnomes. While some people like them, and Kultiran have a good lore, cool pirate and amazing Tidesage looks, even Blizzard barely used them. You’d see cinematics showing Kultirans with the SW Human model.

Clearly Horde AR were superior.

If they aren’t reliable they’re not close to the truth. And what they report is very different than the last reliable look we had in early 2020.
