The Horde will get the better of the Allied Races

If/When they announce Allied Races as a preorder bonus for Dragonflight, it’s almost certain the Horde’s option will be superior.

While I think it’s almost certain they’re going to get Dark Ranger type skins, even San’layn would be extremely awesome.

If you’re still in the 35% minority that plays Alliance like me, be prepared for disappointment.

Just how much better are the Horde ARs?

Let’s look at the numbers:

1.) Zandalari Troll - 4.36% (despite being added a year after void elves, Zandalari are the most popular AR.)

2.) Void Elf - 3.62% (The most popular AR on team blue is a store brand version of what we really want)

3.) Vulpera - 3.27% (compared to what Alliance got in kind, this is a home run AR)

4.) Mag’har Orc - 2.33% (The Brown Orcs the Horde have long requested)

5.) Nightborne - 2.19% (While alliance got purple blood elves, the Horde got even more purple night elves)

6.) Highmountain Tauren - 1.77% (The least popular Horde AR, yet more popular the all but one of the Alliance’s)

7.) Dark Iron Dwarf - 1.60% - (A good AR all things considered, the second best for Alliance. But still way under what the Horde have)

8.) Lightforged Draenei - 1.19% (Very limited by class selection, should have been customizable options for regular)

9.) Kul Tiran - 0.97% (A terrible AR aesthetically. Why add another human race in a fantasy RPG?)

10.) Mechagnomes - 0.63% (Diapers)

The horde have blood elves, vulpera, and orcs, I think they will be fine if we get the cool races this time around. We have gnomes and night elves right now, not bad but we could use one more cool cat.

Blood elfs are old ladies and chads

Old ladies are the best and chad is a good thing?

Keep in mind that there are more Horde players

That only leads credence to my point. There are more horde players because they have better ARs. In Legion the split was only 55/45 H/A. It’s now 65/35.

Alliance got totally ripped off. I bet we’re also going to get Tuskarr (another race that’s fat like Kul Tirans and based on the least cute animal out of all the animals that have been turned into a WoW race) and Horde is probably going to get Darkfallen which will be another S-tier allied race just like Zandalari trolls and vulpera

Libya thinks so too :frowning:

To be real, I guess that any name could be a good or bad thing, depending on the people you associate with it. I don’t like to use Chad and Karen as insults (even though I do understand the need to name those archetypes in modern society) because people are still named Chad and Karen, and have family/friends with those names, even some who have passed. And where I come from, it is disrespectful to talk negatively about people who have passed (or anyone, for that matter). I don’t know people’s loved ones names, or even their names sometimes.

I was under the belief that (in popular culture) Chad was a good thing and Karen was a bad thing? I suppose other people may think the exact opposite, it appears that Google doesn’t have an answer for this. Apparently, a Karen can also be seen as a person who sticks up for themselves and their beliefs, which may be a positive quality!

Not sure who will get what but the fact that the devs thought diaper gnomes would be a good idea makes me worry about what we have to come. I just wish they’d hire a few alliance mains to be on the core team so that they’re not so incredibly out of touch lol

Having to be a horde raider to get through to the second round of interviews is not how you build a well balanced team! :joy:

If Blizzard had given Alliance Vrykul instead of tubby humans, it would be a totally different story.

I don’t disagree. At least with them you could say they weren’t humans, but progenitors like trolls are to elves.

Kul Tirans are strait up human.

I thought they were done with Allied races. Like, oh, boy, a new race I can grind for every day. I can never grind enough of the most boring content. It wouldn’t feel right if I didn’t have to grind really boring content. Can you make us level up a throwaway character too, Blizzard?

I’ll be legitimally surprised if we don’t end up seeing the 4 covenants as AR in the future. Blizzard clearly put a lot of work in to make male/female models of each and all have a pretty clear range of class choices. We’ve also spent the literal entire expansion courting them and literally saving them from oblivion.

Plus with how flippant they treat lore, it isn’t like they can just justify the veil between SL and our mortal world an insurmountable thing since Kyrians already can bypass it just to do their job and we seem to be fine coming and going willy nilly and it isn’t like they even bothered to define how resurrection makes sense anyway (and if you want to argue the age factor, we DK’s went and fetched Nazgrim, Trollbane, and Hottie McGorgeous from their respective graves/tombs where they’ve been for many years now).

You might be but not the developers. Who in their right mind would gave them Mechagnomes VS the Vulperas?

Don’t get me wrong, I love all my characters, including both my Gnomes… but these developers do not care for the Alliance.

Would rather see the owl stewards to become playable than another human-like race for the Alliance.

Agreed.

Mechagnomes are by far the least appealing race in the game IMO, and were such a swing and a miss by Blizzard.

I look at this allied race as a testament to how out of touch blizz staff were with what players wanted at the time.

Absolutely 0 cool factor, completely uninspired, and appeal only to an incredibly small segment of players as expected.

No offense meant to the mechagnome peeps, just my opinion purely as an allied race at the time.

I’d love to see Blizzard look at these numbers and step up with a stellar allied race for the Alliance. A real crowd-pleaser. That said, my expectations are low if/when it happens.

The Mechagnomes are a fine race for the Alliance but you simply do not add them against Vulpera which was unfair and unasked for.

You can release Mechagnomes against Gilgoblins or anything similar to this - but against Vulperas? Still one of the most out of character moments from Ion Hazzikostas team.

I absolutely agree with this.

I’m sure the developers have something humanish in mind, again. Perhaps another human recolor, this time with youthful faces?

Awww geez mate u do to much. let me make this easy for ya since by no means did I mean to give u homework.

The Horde could use a pretty race.since imo they don’t have one. the closest thing they had to a pretty race was bloodelf but they are way outdated

There are more Horde players b/c Blizz has for years favored Horde…there’s no statue of Wrynn outside their HQ.

Agreed OP. Can’t believe some people are delusional enough to think Allied Races didn’t affect faction balance when Alliance clearly got the raw side of the deal. I dread it happening again, because why wouldn’t it? They clearly put their passion projects on Horde because most of the devs play it.

“Faction balance is a community made issue” - Blizzard, while giving Horde multiple highly requested races back to back and then giving Alliance fat people and diaper gnomes that are hilariously underplayed. What a waste of dev time.

I won’t be surprised when Horde get Darkfallen, they always get the races they ask for.
