Gotta say I’m loving Classic’s lore. It’s nice to see more than just Blood Elves every time I engage in PvP. I had forgotten what it was like to engage a Troll or Tauren in combat. And, dare a say, a female toon that wasn’t an Elf??? Like, I don’t even remember the last time I fought a female Forsaken. I was fighting one yesterday, a Rogue, so she was using 1 handers, and her ability attack animation was her doing a front flip! A frigging front flip! I completely forgot about that, it’s been so long.
I’m left sitting here wondering what other animations the female Horde characters have that I’ve been missing out on for all these years.
And yeah, it just feels nice to actually be fighting the Horde instead of Blood Elves R Us. Like, there even feels like a strong rivalry between me and Shamans, just because we’re both the faction specific classes. It’s really nice being unique, as opposed to having Paladins on both factions, ultimately ruining the theme of both Paladins and the Horde.
Like come on, if someone told me years ago, back when I was playing WC3, that the Horde would gain Paladins and then the faction would have half of its population be Blood Elves, I would’ve thought the person a really bad, nutty troll. But oh how low WoW has gone. It’s really nice to be able to go back to the game before all of its mistakes. Back to the days of good story-telling. I could stay in this timeframe forever.
When I PvP, its often on this Rogue. He is my steady PvP farmer. I feel like I kill alot of Orcs and Tauren. Not enough - its never enough. But I see a great variety.
Nearly a quarter of the Horde player base -with enough to go to the Alliance and give them a tolerable race to play!
Blizzards answer to population imbalance - add a Thalassian Elf.
High Elves are already apart of the Alliance. You guys literally have quests to murder Alliance friendly High Elves. I saw it happening in the Hinterlands.
The funniest part is how there are quests in Classic for the Horde to murder High Elves. And then the Blood Elves join the Horde in BC. Blizzard’s story writing really went downhill after Classic, huh? Just so many things that don’t make any sense at all.
bc was dumb like that.
remember the raid with no lore reason to do it
cant believe that are dragging that one up for the anniversary if i was them id want to forget
Yeaaaah! “Let’s become enemies with the one who saved what remains of our race. And Let’s ally with the ones who abandoned us and almost got us wiped and never to mention treated us like 3rd class.” - said no Blood elf ever.
This post isn’t about the Blood Elves remaining in the Alliance. This post is about how Blood Elves ruin the Horde theme. And how much nicer the Horde feels in general when it’s not 50% Blood Elves.
The Horde feels so much more interesting when it’s about blood and honor. Noble beasts, who deal with prejudices from the more “sophisticated” races. This theme was thrown off when you have these high class, bstter-than-thou mentality Blood Elves thrown in the mix.
I don’t really get what his gender, race, or class choice has to do with anything, unless this is just a form of shaming people for their personal choices.
In which case, anyone rolling Blood Elf has no room to denigrate others because some of the hottest takes I’ve read has been from a Blood Elf avatar too.
Had. Past tense. Those quests were removed in Cataclysm. Probably a majority of current players have never even done them–unless they’re getting super-into Classic, because you have to level a character into the 40s and bother to go to Hinterlands before you’re even eligible.
