The honor gain requires an unrealistic time commitment

around 100-200 honor per game it if win. 50-100 on a loss. for a SINGLE piece that cost 20k it will require approximately 30-35 hours of gameplay.

The full set and off-set honor pieces (not including the weapon / shield) will cost a total of 133868 honor.

133868 / 150 (average) = 893 game played

893*15 (average bg time length) = 13 387 minutes

13387 / 60 = 223 hours.
The same calculation for 75 honor = 446 hours

So… I guess getting the honor gear will take between around 225-450 hours of playtime.

This is serious commitment and it could take even more time because some BG like Warsong or Alterac could take up to an hour before it finish.

It’s discouraging to set goal and see you won’t be able to reach them unless you play an unhealthy amount of time. We all want to be competitive in Arena. But right now I think it’s more worth running dungeons and socketing resilience into PVE items.

I really do empathize with ya but there are some glaring issues with your post and mentality of TBC. Firstly, you make a lot of assumptions in your calculations and leave out very important details.

There is no mention of premade and efficiencies of queueing as a stack. There is no mention of 2x honor bonus weekends, which start Friday morning and end Tuesday so its really 4 days of some benefit. Premade can make 15 minute games, 7 minutes, couple that with BG weekend honor and you’re increasing the speed by x4. There is also no mention of mark turn-ins or daily quest.

Secondly, this game was created at a time when people didn’t get everything, point blank. This isn’t WoD where you get full geared in one day, nor should it be. I suggest not being frustrated by this and accept the game in its grindiness for what it is. You may not like it and that is okay but some folks to like a crazy challenge.

Keep your course mate, I’m older as well and don’t have as much time to play as I would’ve liked. Get your off pieces and fill with arena gear, you’ll get there.

Like how blizzard allowed people to take advantage of a 10x honor bug and never reset the honor?

Are you still complaining over prepatch?

I played original tbc S2-S4 and did the full honor grind every season. It absolutely was not like this unfortunately blizzard must have miscalculated something relating to honor I think HK honor calculations are bugged that’s where most of your honor came from in the original.

At this point it’s not worth it to grind the mediocre blue set for the amount of time it takes you would be much better off PVEing a few hours a week sadly

Absolutely. Are you aware of how fast people were getting honor? You must not be.

In the last 34 hours of solid queuing/bging, i’ve averaged 358 points per hour. Have not handed in any marks. That’s about 400+ hours to get the full set. Regardless of whether premades might be better, or bg weekends etc, 400 hours as a baseline for a full set is pathetic.

I promise you, it was exactly like this. We would farm honor waiting for arena partners to log on. It’s literally all I did during tbc. I did absolutely nothing else because it required so much time.

We’re talking 0 to 75k in a single day

I was. I was still able to honor without it. Unless you need rank 14 gear as well, really wasn’t a big deal.

Bonus honor are no longer 2x. They’re a rough 150% increase to bonus honor awarded depending on the battleground. AV for instance is only like a bonus 86 honor for a win.

The honor grind is insanely long, so hot try to rationalize it

You’re horde so your queue times are scuffed. Play alliance and increase HPH.

And earn 458 honor per hour instead? Okay lol

I never said it was insanely long. It serious is a grind. That is in my first post. If you don’t like it though, there is always retail.

Na, my guilds premade got 20k honor yesterday in a good session. you can get more that 1k per hour.

I don’t have a problem with the grind. I have a problem with the fact that Blizzard is picking favorites on who has to grind. The JUST removed the eots flag cap grind. So anyone who took advantage of that gets way ahead and people who didn’t are left at a disadvantage.

I understand your frustration. They made mistakes. They aren’t picking favorite though, lets not be ridiculous. As someone who works in software, trust me, there is always bugs =)

You will persevere without the bugged honor. Good luck.

nothing wrong with that dude

I work in software too. There are ways to handle this without throwing your hands up and saying “Well I guess they just get the advantage.” And by handling the situation that way they are picking people that get an advantage. Call them favorites or whatever you want.

When they nerfed the 10x honor bug they should have taken everyone’s honor right then and reset it to 0. That was the ONLY fair way to handle that situation.

The real problem is they are gimped by their ability to do rollbacks and partial rollbacks. They need more data.

I disagree. Why would you wipe someone’s playtime completely? I could understand removing the extra honor but to just wipe someones progress like that is messed up.

It is a game. I doubt they really care about <1% of the people catching a break. You take this too seriously mate. Good luck in the season though.
