But what you can expect is them to change the game so that it unrealistically unattainable?
Grinding out 140 AB Marks, 50 AV Marks and 60 WSG Marks isn’t a quick task
Let me break it down for you. If you won every single AV Game at 300 Honor, Grinding 9 Hours every day, with achieving 15 minute games MAX. Then you would just have enough honor to get the gear…However you wouldn’t have the marks from AB or WSG. WHich is a total of an extra 200 Marks…
Are you saying you’re in favor of no changes, or what’s your take here? Did you think about the larger picture of why everyone’s so pissed about this, further than the simplistic “how do I gear while supporting my wife’s boyfriend, step son, and OnlyFans account?”
What I’m saying is that if you are going to launch something, launch it either as it was (Including the Timeframe) or if you are going to adjust it and only honour certain parts…Then scale it so that it matches the original timeline… Absolutely crushing a system so that it is nearly impossible to get the PVP gear in the timeframe is completely ridiculous.
You can get Shadowreng longblade from hellfire ramparts at 62 that is equivalent to the GM 1 hander. There are plenty more at higher levels. Most GM gear is worse than AQ40 gear for rogues, except the weapons.
No one guaranteed you that you can have gear that would last you from 60 to 70. You are supposed to upgrade gear while you level, not cram gear in 2 weeks and have it last to 70. That would be horrible game design.
If you wanted decent gear you should have put the time in earlier and gotten raid gear which is in almost all cases better than the R14 gear for almost every class.
Your lack of planning is not other people’s fault.
This change does kind of suck, but I’m on the side of “so what” as long as honor at 70 isn’t bugged.
The thing that is really dumb about this and chaps my bum is that this was almost INSTANTLY fixed lol. When there are bugs out right now that are just as if not more game breaking right now. But this one it seemed like they were really quick to fix haha.
As far as I’m concerned Blizzard shot themselves in the foot by making the pre patch 3x shorter than it was originally, offering up paid boosts for undergeared level 58 characters, then giving people 10x the honor.
There’s no real out they have here, it’s just bad optics and them making a string of bad decisions.
I think 10x the honor was way too much, but I think the nerf should reflect something more in line with how little time we have with pre patch.
There’s more to be argued here as well with how Blizzard has overtly compounded on the problem by allowing certain emergent player behaviors to flourish, of course.
I think theres more scenarios then that honestly… here’s another
People see Honor gains on prepatch release and decide to boost a toon that they can gear in BGs.
They pay their $60 (or whatever it is in your local currency) and by the time you’re 59 its been ‘hotfixed’ and now you’re stuck with a lvl 59 in greens that you can’t be bothered competing against 1000 other people world questing on june 1st
I’d be OK with a reset of honor. I doubt they would try and remove items people purchased cause that would be a logistical nightmare.
Farming honor at 70 won’t be as hard cause you can turn in marks for honor. So with all the extra marks you will be getting you can get a decent amount of honor from turn ins.
I think it gives some people a tiny leg up at 70 so a honor wipe now would be good.
So here is a question though. What is the decay rate on the honor? Does it decay? I don’t remember. The problem with letting people keep the honor isn’t the people who bought the current items. It is the people hoarding it for the level 70 items. Not that even that probably matters that much since the “head start” isn’t that pronounced. But that’s the real advantage IMO.
