Its not a hard sell to attack a neutral faction that has no support and still poses a threat to you.
The likelihood they removed any contention from the attacks in Cata is low. Not only that as Sylvanas uses in her manipulation of Saurfang, how long will peace last with the Night Elves on their border? They killed Cenarius, they attacked in Cata. How long until they come for the Hordes holdings in Ashenvale? And what if they finally decide to ally with the Alliance.
Theyāre still a threat on the doorstep either way.
Given that Sylvanas whole point was to create as much mayhem and death as possible, if the NEās were a threat at this point, all she needed was to fan the flames of war against the NE, not the alliance.
Thatās the thing tho, without being alliance, the NEās could have been wiped when Garrosh was still in charge! So everything could be different.
Sylvanas is very Cersei like in how shes written and would consider anyone who doesnāt obey her as a threat. So it doesnāt surprise me she sees enemies in anyone outside of her power.
It would be entirely in her characterization to turn the horde against the Night Elves through treachery and deception. Like itās not even a question.
Whoās to say? Iām just saying, itās not a foregone conclusion that Garrosh would have immediately gone full genocide mode if the night elves had a more productive relationship with the Horde going into Cata.
The basis of everything youāre saying is that Garrosh definitely would have killed them all despite the fact that his only interest was ever Ashenvale and as we saw in Wrath his focus was always fighting the Alliance.
Not to mention he didnāt go fully nutso until MoP. We saw him display a strong code of honour several times in Cata.
Why? Why would they be offended? They are both Alliances races. It would be like them going Darn those Dwarves and Gnomes for working together in the faction they both represent. For myself I can honestly say their being upset makes Zero sense. Alsoā¦ I also donāt see the High Elves doing anything that could possibly put the Sunwell in danger considering they need it just as much as the Blood Elves.
I can honestly say I hope this doesnāt happen, the whole Silver Covenant High Elves Attack their Kin in Ghostlands. Although in lore they have gone to help them defend it. It just seems so bland do they ever do anything else.
Silver Covenant formed to oppose the Blood Elves, Follows Jaina in her genocide of Blood Elf Civilians in Dalaran. Show up in Pandaria to oppose Blood Elves, at the Isle of thunder in opposition to Blood Elves. The only reason they show up in Legion is to be opposite the Blood Elves. Forgive me but. Would like the SCHEās to have their own story and stop being used as filler for the Blood Elves story.
In reference to the BE ongoing feud with NEs I think a HE feud would be more interesting. And the current rivalry Blizzard tried to set up with Void Elves seemed hollow and lackluster, but I could see genuine disdain for Alliance associated HEs who never fought for Quelāthalas after the Scourge and stayed in Alliance cities etc
EDIT: to say idk about the ghostland scenario I think that was just a scenario of hypothetical like nature. I was more or less saying Iād be more interested in the feud described then the NE BE one theyāve had ongoing places.
Itās because Blood Elves donāt actually have a fued with The Void Elves, and the Void Elves donāt have with the Blood Elves. Umbric doesnāt care much for Rommathās douchery and want to bring the Blood Elves back into the Alliance. The only real He/Be fued there really is would be Vereesa and her Silver Covenant, against Aethis and his Sunreavers.
Idk Iāve always played my BEs with the mindset Iād have pride in having been a Blood Elf, so if HEs were introduced I role playing and I would think their society has disdain to HEs basically choosing Alliance values over their homeland.
And then the feud thing Iām just saying Blizzard did try to half effort a feud with VEs to make it seem like rivalry but it was lackluster. And then Blizzard also has in years past tried to make NEs VS BEs be some deep thing. But personally for me Iād prefer a HE BE feud not an all the time constant thing but they could be foils to each other. I would also be more interested if Blizzard touched up on Nightborne(Highborne) disdain for NEs and vice versa
I also feel like it would be in her characterization to view at that point the entire Horde as an extension of herself, so in her mind any threat to her was a threat to them, sort of like Cersei painting Margaery in a bad light to everyone she could. She viewed Margaery as a threat to herself so by proxy she viewed the Tyrells as a threat, and seemed genuinely confused when the other Lannisterās didnāt, there was a genuine disconnect there imo. And I see Sylvanas in a lot of the same light. But thatās just my take.
I think we both have different views on that. But that is okay, I never really saw there being much of a fued. They are already on the Alliance and are allowed to visit the Sunwell. So I am not seeing how them becoming playable would suddenly change that. I would then like to see the Sun well become an area that both Blood Elves, and High Elves could visit.
To put it in perspective; I think he would have been seen as a great conqueror in history books. Your typical āhe created a prosperous empireā sort of thing.
Yes and updated Sunwell area, and Eversong woods please, my mage by proxy of being a mage always go to the Silvermoon AH and sits ques there because why not. Iām just glad they didnāt turn Eversong into one of the war fronts lol oof
I think I might have been all for a Eversong/ Silvermoon warfront, if it meant they would finally update the zone, Weāve been stuck in BC time for over a decadeā¦
