The High Elf Love Thread 🥰

are you sure blood elves are your most popular model?? we asked, from the moment allied races were introduced, for a modified high elf, not a modified blood elf. i’m really more interested in half elves but the most recent conversations with awz, reveals that several of you dont think there’s enough high elves to make a playable race. where’s that leave half elves, i mean they aren’t hatched from eggs and brought by the stork. they need at least one living high elf parent.

in otherwords, your desire to keep your models sanctified for horde use only, even when it wasnt what we asked for in the first place, is a red herring. we never said we wanted a blood elf copy. how many times does that need to be said. or does the horde own all elves now and all human skin tones?

See? You don’t empathise at all.

Blood Elves are not only the most popular race on the Horde they are in fact the most popular in WoW entirely.

Some 22% of players across both EU and NA realms.

Followed by Night Elf at 11% and Human at 10%

wait till fur the horde gets to 120

Fur the Horde  Are already higher than Void Elves at 4%.

Look, frankly we’re all greedy to one extent or another here.

I don’t think that High elves should be playable alliance side because it may have negative effects on the horde. So I place that over empathy for the request for them to be playable on Alliance.

Contrarily, you feel that they should be and are not concerned that Horde players have valid objections to your request.

We’re all here arguing for our interests, so it doesn’t work to try and shame one side about a lack of empathy when both positions are about placing our concerns and desires over what the other side feels.

It’s actually impossible to tell. The tool people are using to chicken little about how many vulpera there are relies on self reporting and also claims humans are like the second least played race.

The one I’m looking at shows Humans as Third Most Played.

Cards on the table I do know its data is still off.

but we dont want playable blood elves. we want modified high elves. a half elf is a modified high elf. a void elf is a modified blood elf. the half elf has a chance of being so much different that even in full armor, they wont look a thing like a blood elf or a high elf but they will retain some high elf characteristics such as elf ears, only shorter, and elf eyebrows, only shorter. and so on. but all you can see is the word high elf in the sentence and your brain starts the no high elves for the alliance mantra, because it might look like a blood elf. HELP! we already have that problem. we already have a blood elf lookalike we didnt ask for.

The fact you don’t see how those two things are connected once again shows your lack of empathy for the anti position.

They’re the same race and the same model. A high elf is a modified blood elf just as a blood elf is a modified high elf.

It’s one race with two eye colours.

a half elf is half human. it isn’t going to have the same silhouette as a blood or high elf. it isnt going to have the same idling stances or animations because it isnt a blood or high elf. yes its a modified high elf but its also a modified human. your worrying about belf copy and arguing we should be happy we got a belf copy that we didnt even ask for. i dunno why you dont understand this.

i didnt want to have a blood elf copy. maybe i should say it again

I think HE’s add to the faction divide anyways with rivalry not take away from it. A HE BE feud seems more significant then a Night Elf Blood Elf feud by miles. And when I’m on a BE I’d feel extra faction pride in regards to any HE story and vice versa.

The thing is high elves are the same race as blood elves. No matter how you change them, it’s a copy. That’s just the nature of the beast.

Ignore that fact if you like, but don’t attempt to shame people for some kind of moral failing when you refuse to even consider the other side’s point.

Don’t forget the VE BE fued. They’re quite at each others throats.

do you not understand the difference between a high elf and a half elf? if the modifications to the high elf are based on a human and high elf variant, they are gonna look totally different than a belf. they wont have the same silhouette, nor the same idling animations, nor the same animations in general. (wish they could retain the female belf run though, its really graceful). they’d likely have different hands, feet, muscles, waist to hip ratio, shoulder width etc. humans are thicc’er and female humans have larger hips and bossoms than belfs. half elves would be somewhere inbetween.

as it stands, the devs have already violated the sanctity of the belf model and oddly enough, we didnt even ask for this model. we asked for a modified high elf (the high elf part applies to the idea they be elven but not blood elven), with the characteristic human skin tones and high elven eyes but there after, modifications were perfectly doable. such as half elves.

You’re just not getting it.

You just can’t seem to see it from my perspective.

i did consider your point and explained you would’ve had nothing to worry about if the devs had given us a modified high elf, like a half elf, rather than a blood elf with tentacles and blue skin. its like they said, well we’ll mix draenei with blood elf, tadaaa. hehe!

That’s about as empathetic if I said that we considered your want for something high elf flavored and explained how there’s nothing stopping you from playing one of the main body of high elves on the horde. It doesn’t really pay attention to the concerns and dismisses the objections out of hand.

really? all i’ve seen so far is alleria getting booted out of silvermoon because her presence by the sunwell, caused void creatures to portal thru it

I didn’t even mention the VE BE thing because it feels hollow and lack luster compared to what they’ve made BE’s VS NE’s over the years, which to me is also a strange feud, BE’s VS HE’s would be an understandable feud I could get behind
